ICC Sub Amazing. The Italian Cold Cut Sub, with everything and hots is an amazing sandwich. I’ve been ordering it for over 10 years. The secret is the quality of meat and cheese, but also the oil & vinegar dressing, herbs and spices. I have clients who plan to be here so we can order lunch and get one of those. The deliver and I’m not THAT close. I overtip and am happy to do so. It usually takes 30-45 minutes, and I sometimes stop for lunch when I’m out doing chores.

Pass. The Italian sub at Giorgios is terrible. They put way too much Italian dressing on the sub making it too soggy and a weird flavor. The meat just doesn’t seem to be a good quality. A lot of pizza places in this area have several pizzas with a selection of toppings ready at lunch time. That’s not the case here, so if you want a slice with a topping like mushrooms they put the mushrooms on top of a plain slice and reheat it. Since they are heating both the slice and the mushrooms the crust usually ends up burned. Overall I would pass on another visit to Giorgios.

Best in the area…. It has been quite a while since I have been able to find a homemade, non-franchised pizza shop since I moved away from Bel Air. If you are from the Harford County area you would know that Fortunato’s and Buentempo Brothers have owned the pizza realm for a long time. I moved into the Lutherville area about 7 years ago and began my search. I started with the franchises and of course was disappointed, then came across Maria’s, they had a good Sunday & Monday pizza deal where you get 50% off. Their sauce is spicier and has a tendency leave the morning aftereffects that we all try and avoid, haha. When I was grocery shopping at Mars I stumbled across The Original Georgio’s Pizza Shop off of York Road in the Bank of America/Mars shopping plaza. The aroma’s wafting through the air was a beacon to the senses, tantalizing and teasing calling to me to come hither…I made my way inside and grabbed a menu and was greeted by the owner, a handsome man of ethnic decent, although I am not sure sure of what derivation. Keen not to allow my stomach dictate my hunger I got in my car and went home and reveled in the fact that they had CALZONES!!! My daughters and I reviewed the menu, called and placed our order for delivery and waited anxiously. Within 20 minutes a knock was at the door and our piping hot food was there. I ordered the calzone; ricotta cheese, mozzarella, Italian sausage, and pepperoni, no sauce inside but on the side in separate container for dipping. My daughters ordered the chicken strips platter and the shrimp platter, both were served with a huge heaping of french fries. Needless to say it was to die for! The kids cleared both their proteins, leaving few french fries in their wake. I am normally a picky eater, eating very little even when I am famished. I gorged so much that I felt nearly ill after. The calzone was just incredible and transported me to when I was a child trying adult food for the first time, it was/is still one of my favorite delivery foods. We have ordered from them over and over again and with the exception of Bruce Lee Chinese Food they are our #1 pick. Pizza is just as good as The Real Thing New York thin crust. Their sub sandwiches are delicious but a bit lean on the amount of meat served in the portion sizes. They always have coupon specials and will make what ever you want to order even if it is not on the menu. Pizza doesn’t always reheat very well, my belief is because of the fact that they use real cheese that it does not melt as it did the first time. Give it a try!!
