Poor Service + Mediocre Food. Dined 2 days ago on a recommendation. The decor was sad old wallpaper, and dingy worn carpets. Had most visible seating, although waitress repeatedly forgot we were there for bread, drinks, refills, our meal, and to pay our check!. Staff seated our food tray in middle of aisle where it remained for 5 minutes until she resurfaced. Customers passed by it leaving and visiting the restroom. We ordered the 2 Prix Fixe $25 signature dishes. But, the food was NOT good. The crabcake lacked any Old Bay seasoning. They used powdered beef gravy for mashed potatoes, stewed tomatoes tasted bitter plain like it came from a can, cream of crab was a salty base with a small clump of meat dropped in, chicken oscar just plain gross! 95% of customers appear over 80 years old. It makes you wonder if this is a diner for a Senior Citizen Home upstairs.
Best Crab Cakes, Oyster stew, Lamb chops and so on. At first glance one will notice the croud tends to be a little older but dont let that deter you. I’m in my early 30’s and my wife late 20’s and we love this place. i would say they make one of the best crab cakes i have ever tasted, all jumbo lump and no filler or claw meat. i usually stick with the same things oyster stew(when in season)Crab cake, burger, lamb chops, blackened catfish, prim rib. i have never had a bad meal and service is always prompt. And you cant beat it for the money, lets face it old people know a bargain when they see one.
Do it!. Haha, look, folks, you aren’t going to find many under the age of 50 here. But do you know what that means?Seasoned wait staff. They remember your name.Classic bar. – Who doesn’t love gin & tonic?Great food. – They know the difference between rare and medium.Kudos for the burgers and salads are always great quality. Go early or call ahead, this place is BUSY!
Good food, other reviewers are right about the ambiance. This place has good solid food. The Clams Casino was a little over done and the cream of crab soup was okay, but the rest of the meal was good. The orange roughy with crab meat and imperial sauce and the Chicken Baltimore were favorites. Definitely reminded me of an upscale assisted living dining room. Prices seemed good.
Great lunch today. I had the Italian wedding soup and enjoyed it. The cream of crab soup had the requisite amount of lump crab meat, but it was really thick. Salads were good, portions large and fresh. The chocolate cake with Kahlua mouse filling was superb and really fresh. and the coffee was hot and full flavored….Prices were fine, very reasonable, this came to about 32.00 for both of us.
Great Oyster Stew. Great oyster stew and enough old people to fill the geriatrics ward.
Big surprise…. Walked in, saw no one under the age of 50, walked out. It isn’t a place for younger people if you aren’t in the company of a much older person.
