Bait and switch. BEWARE OF THE BAIT AND SWITCH!I wanted to celebrate my birthday with some friends so we thought we would try the Crack Pot Crab house for you guessed it CRABS …big mistake. We checked Groupons for Crack Pot coupons and found a $100.00 coupon for $ 40.00 and since there were no restrictions other then you needed to spend at least $200.00 before their coupon would kick in… we purchased it. And you guessed it again! After our meal they would not accept our coupon. Their excuse was that the owner said that it did not apply to CRABS ……WTF!. When we asked to speak with him directly because our coupon did not state (except crabs) the manager came back and said the owner( just left) but said he forgot AGAIN to add(except crabs) on his coupon….and it was our TUFF LUCK. WOW UNBELIEVABLE! Needles to say we will never ever go back! And I will be letting everyone know about our experience.
Very Poor Customer Service. Arrived on my birthday ( 5/4) to celebrate with a friend using a Living Social voucher/coupon. Tried to present the coupon before we ordered, and was told to present it at the end of the meal. After a decent ( but not fantastic meal), I presented the coupon only to be told it was not valid ( coupon valid through 5/8). The management told me Living Social should have contacted me to tell me it was not valid. They hadn’t or I would not have tried to use it. After considerable back and forth ( overheard by several patrons), we had to pay the full price. This was handled very poorly by the restaurant and that is my complaint..very poor customer service all around. Even the food quality used to be better at the Crackpot….lots more places have better crab cakes, and at a lower prices. I used to recommend the Crackpot…..never more…..
First time / Last time. I was taken to crackpot restaurant for my birthday and let me tell you the food was awful I ordered the 20 oz. crabcake dinner and it had no taste what so ever , I talked to the manager and he let me order something else on the menu ,so this time I ordered something they could not possibly mess up , so I thought . I ordered the lobster tail and steak dinner medium well i made sure to tell the waitress i wanted it pink but not bleeeding I get it and it’s well done I let the manager know about it and he tells me that a medium well steak is supposed to look like it’s well done but juicier , and I used to be a line cook and he just tries to patronize with whatever he thought would apeze me , I ask for my check from the waitress and explained to her she did a good gob but the food sucked her name was Tatiana she was the only thing good about the whole experience . I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy . This occured on the 14 of April ,I’ll never forget this place . YUUUUUUCK.
A regular stop when out of towners visit. We go for the crabs when family visits from the Midwest. We’ve always had good service, just wish the crabs were a bit cheaper
The owner is a Biased individual who has no abilities in customer service. He shut off a college football game hLfway through and informed us that we dis not seem involved enough with the fme to warrant leaving it on. We were very polite and calm and he was clearly old school unbendinding. And informed us if a group of college kids requested the game or he supported the team he’d leave it on. The quality or food was okay but bland. Not spiced like Maryland food.
Don’t waste your money. Very disappointing. Service was slow, the kitchen was slower, and the portion of fish I was served was so small I was still hungry when I left. The soy-ginger sauce completely overwhelmed the extremely small, thin piece of fish and rendered it salty and unappealing, and the fish itself had dried out from cooking because it was sliced so thin. If there had been rolls or bread on the table, perhaps the prolonged wait wouldn’t have left us starving, but there were none offered. And because we used a Groupon, there was a mandatory, generous tip added to our bill — not just the reasonable reminder that the tip should be based on the total price, not the balance remaining after the Groupon, but an actual required fee added onto our bill that we had to pay regardless of the poor quality of both food and service. I wanted this to be a nice evening out, and it wasn’t. We will not be going back there again. People eating crabs looked much happier with their meals, and at least the vegetables weren’t overcooked.
Good Food and Great Service. My husband and I went to the Crackpot for dinner and was pleasantly surprised with the meal. He likes fish and I like steak, which we had. Both cooked well and served with veggies, cooked to perfection. We have dined there before and the service and dinners are both excellent. Would recommed to all.
