Zagat got it wrong. I was excited to try Spice and Dice as Zagat gave it such a high rating. I was grossly disappointed though. Walking in to the restaurant, I was uncomfortable immediately for two reasons. The lights were so shockingly bright I felt like I needed to pull out a pair of sunglasses…and not only that, it was FREEZING. I get that it’s summer, but even wearing jeans and a blouse, I was shivering. Thankfully, my husband had a bag of dry cleaning in the car-we both put on suit coats and sat there looking like idiots attempting to keep warm while waiting for our food!We started with the spring rolls. There was no filling in them. They were really just a deep fried pastry served with a sweet dipping sauce. Also ordered were the chicken dumplings. While these were filled appropriately, they were horribly greasy-to the point that after taking one bite, the grease dripped down your chin. One bite and I was done.I did enjoy the Lemongrass soup. It was spicy and warm (thank GOD!)-and the cilantro gave a wonderful flavor to it. I got it with chicken that was cooked nicely. For my entree I opted for the drunken noodle. When ordering, you decide your spice level on a scale of 1-3. I chose 2 and was told it was fairly spicy. I didn’t find this to be the case at all. In fact, it was lacking flavor completely. Not only that, but it was room temperature. I got it with shrimp-which weren’t cleaned properly, the noodles were cooked to a state of mush-however the vegetables on the plate gave me enough to nibble on. Service was lousy. No one came to check on us until we were more than half way through our meals. I won’t go back. It’s too bad. I was really in the mood for some good Thai food.
Satisfying! Having visited thailand several times I often miss good thai food. My cravings have finally been satisfied. I definately recommend this place. The decor and music are not what you’d expect, black and white polka dot tables, multicolored chairs and the music is random but then comes the food. I had the red curry. So tasty! Spicy enough to make your nose run and feel a slight burn in the back of your throat but well complimented with the subtle sweet coconut flavor. (I also recommend green curry) but my all time favorite are the drunken noodles! Soft and creamy with a blast of flavors from an array of spices and a smokey flavor from the wok. Since I came at lunch I also got a free spring roll and free warm tapioca pudding (great for digestion after a spicy meal). I paid $16 for a ton of yummy food and 2 days worth of leftovers! Yay. So run, don’t walk there! Enjoy
Went there a few months ago for the first time…Food was mediocre/no flavor. I ordered carry-out and waited over an hour for my food! The staff was extremely unorganized and they kept telling me the food is almost done. What really ticked me off was that the people who ordered carry-out after me got their food first. NEVER AGAIN. I definitely prefer Thai One On over this dump!
Absolutely terrific place. The service is incredible and the food double so. It is easily my favorite restaurant in the Towson area and I try to make a point of eating there at least 2 times a week
What a dump! The workers, decor, and food all just terrible!
When I walked in, the decore and atmosphere looked pretty cheap. That was the first warning. I prdered carry out, and I had Drunken Noodles. It was very bland, and by far and away the worst Drunken Noodles I have ever had. My Godfather ordered Pad Thai with shrimp, and he didn’t like it either. Stick to Thai One On in Towson. It is so much better!!!
Great tasting Pad Ke Mao and Basil Fried Rice. Chicken Satay peanut sauce was also great. Friendly service and Free WiFi puts this place over the top
