Amazing. I’m so happy I now work just a few minutes away from this place. With a handful of decent/good lunch options around the Falls and Lake intersection, I constantly find myself back at the Carte. I’ve recently started branching out from getting the HD Signature every time and I’ve gotta say that the various Chef’s daily dogs have not disappointed! On a side note, the owner seems like a really cool guy and I’m glad his business is doing well!
$5 and totally worth it! The dogs are huge and served in a huge hollowed out roll. It’s a little too much bread for me but the dogs are juicy and savory and come with a variety of delicious toppings. YUM!
Gotta love it…inspite. I love the idea of this place. Every dog is about five bucks, which to the purist is steep, but it’s a reasonable value considering these are not the average hot dog. The cheffy dog I got actually was a terrible choice, but I still want this guy to do well. The place next door, where I went to pair my dog with a coffee, was sad and depressing.
Overpriced. Are you kidding me? I’ve seen all the rave reviews and seen the lines, so I had to try it out. Boy was I dissapointed. If you want to over pay for a dog this is the place to go. I had a regular and a special of the day. Neither impressed me enough to ever go back.
Best Ever!. Seriously, best hot dogs in the country! Daniel has made my wife and I regulars thanks to his delicious variety and fantastic ingredients. Do yourself a favor and enjoy one today. And after you’re done, run next door to Bonjour for a good cup of coffee and a pastry.
Utterly drool-worthy.. …the lovingly prepared bacon & mustard relish, the salty dawgs, the perfect soft roll with a slightly toothy crust. I don’t even LIKE hot dogs. But I love Haute Dog. This guy has elevated the humble weeny to another level entirely. And the buns are clever: the roll entirely contains the dog except for one open end, so they’re like pigs-in-a-blanket. mmmmmmm….
This rocks.. We finally got to an evening hour of Haute Dog and had the BEST time. The whole thing is a great (and different)urban experience from a regular night in a restaurant. The owner is happy, his product is fabulous and everyone around us was equally happy – what’s not to love… This being our first visit, we stuck to the all beef, Angus dog with the awesome tomato onion jam. The thing to do is let Daniel tell you what goes with what – he knows what works – trust him. The dog was sublime – crispy on the outside and perfectly measured taste on the inside we thought it was perfect (and a plus that it was high quality, no hormones or antibiotics, beef). The collaboration with Bonjour is wonderful. We had both dogs and a lovely spinach crepe on wonderful vintage mirrored tables and brought our own bottle of French wine. Needless to say, we look forward to next month and next summer when we can sit outside on the sweet little seating bar at Bonjour (evening hours on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of each month – email, FB or Twitter for schedule). Long live this tiny little neighborhood GEM.
