Very Enjoyable and tasty!. After reading a few negative reviews, I was unsure of going here, but my wife prevailed. The owners waited on us personally and we were well cared for in a very friendly manner. We had Chicken Tikka and Shrimp Masala. They were both delicious and perfectly cooked. The chicken was tasty, tender and juicy. I highly recommend the reader to give this place a try. We’re happy that we did!
Great Indian Food!. First of all, we eat here all the time, but have never tried the lunch buffet. I would never rate an Indian restaurant solely on their lunch buffet. Usually the choices are limited to chicken curries and they are never very spicy to please the majority of Americans. With that said, at Sitar of India you can ask that your curry be made mild, medium hot, hot, or very hot, so any complaints about the food not being spicy enough should be discounted. I like spicy hot food that makes your nose run, so I ordered a lamb vindaloo hot one time and it was tangy and so spicy I could barely eat it all (but of course I did!). Their samosas (meat or potato) are excellent, as are their fish pakoras that we had last night. Their vegetarian thali platter is amazing as are their creamy yogurt curry korma and massala sauces. I have never had a disappointing meal here.
Worst Indian restaurant I’ve ever visited. My husband and I were a bit hesitant about eating at an Indian restaurant in this neck of the woods, but after reading the favorable reviews, we decided to give it a try. I’d like to preface my comments by saying that we have eaten at many Indian restaurants all over the Western hemisphere. That said, I have no option but to state that this was without any doubt the worst Indian food I’ver ever had the displeasure to eat. We visited the restaurant to partake in their lunch time buffet. The buffet selection was pretty measly, and what was there was overcooked, the vegetables mushy, the chicken hard and dry. Some of the items were cold. The origin of a couple of the offerings couldn’t even be identified. The food was strangely enough spicy but bland at the same time and totally missing the traditional Indian spices. Perhaps the regular cook had fallen ill on the day we visited and the dishwasher had to substitute. I can’t come up with another explanation as to why this restaurant is getting good reviews.
Friendly staff amazing food finally a great indian food restaurant in hagerstown
The Best of the Best!!!!. I discovered Indian food when I met my husband 3 years ago. Since that time we have tried many different Indian restaurants…,many of them very good….from one end of the country to the other. But Sitar of India outshines them all! We try to go at least once a month and will go again tomorrow. Not once have I EVER been disappointed in the food or the service. If there is anything I dislike, it is only because of personal preference (such as cooked spinach). The owners are very helpful in explaining how each dish is prepared. My favorites are any of the foods cooked in creamy sauces, and the onion Naan, and they make the BEST mango lassis on the planet!!! We went once at noon for their lunch buffet and it was lovely…and I usually don’t like buffets. But this is a great way to try several things for the first time. I would say that if anyone dislikes this place then they probably are people who are never satisfied with anything. This is my favorite restaurant of all time!!!
WORLD wind group. 100% tasty. 100% the service deserve more than 100 stars!!!!!!!I do not get it how come other people rated a bad service..unless you wanted to be handfed? Could not ask anything more. Even the bathroom was spotless. Came all the way from Texas, Lousianna, Puerto Rico, Asia, Charlotte and Winchester to dine here. The family running the show super accomodating. Above and beyong service. Everybody more than satisfied. No leftovers which is unusual for us. The whole family and group just made blast for fine dining. Healthy food, spice have a choice from mild to super fire blazing hot of your choice. We always cook curry at home and they have the art in marrying and chemical reaction of their spices MORE then home-made taste. Non greasy, SUPERLICIUOS is an understatement. if you have not tasted an Indian food game on there is no reason to try introduce something new to your pallete. Why limit yourself? One thing I shall say I hope there were photos of each dishes lighted on wall as you enter or somewhere..the paint was too dark, needed some splash of color other than that I cannot think and see anything off.
Horrible service. They had maybe four people working and only trusted one person to do the bulk of the work. Waited nearly 15 minutes after eating for the check, after telling everyone working we were done. Food wasn’t spicy at all. Won’t be going back.
