I’m not sure why this place has such a low review score. The food is great, the tea selection is huge, and the staff is friendly. I wonder if some people took off points for slow service? This tea bar does run at a casual pace and assumes you’re going to sit and chat over tea while you wait for food. I love that about The Cup because in many restaurants I often feel like staff is trying to cycle tables and I end up feeling like I’m expected to leave when I’m finished eating even if I’m still chatting. It’s not the best place to go if you only have 30 minutes for lunch or are in a hurry, but they also have call ahead takeout for people in a hurry. Definitely try their seasonal soups and fresh local baked goods that are on display at the register! MmmmmmAnyway, I think this place is great and it’s my go-to for brunch or lunch conversation meetings. Nothing beats sharing a pot of tea to bring people together. There’s something very comforting and old about the ritual of sharing a beverage.
