Shoddy service and below par food, six meals ordered and only one worth eating. Their Fish and Chips was horrible as the batter looked over cooked but was in fact wet. The manager told us this was due to their double battering and this sometimes happens. Not an acceptable reason to serve customers poorly prepared food. The steak was not cooked very well at all the. As a matter of fact I think it was only the grill for a minute each side. The so called butter that was poured on the top of broccoli was viscous and grey in color and when we asked the waitress what was on the broccoli she had no clue. The Shepherds Pie was cold along with the bread served and one of the chicken strips from another plate can only be described as having something slimy inside. They did manage to overcook a burger and not mess up the fries. This establishment should consider closing the kitchen and only serving beer and not by the glass either. It took over five minutes to get a beer, one drink and a bottle of root beer. This restaurant was not busy at all last night and I now know why.
I haven’t walked out of a place in a very long time but after being seated (with little enthusiasm) and waiting 10+ minutes for anyone to acknowledge our existence we left. And, no, no one asked why we were leaving!
Irish Hooters. New Years eve weekend, Sunny and I met up with our good friends (Couples 1 and 2) for bowling and dinner. Couple 1 arrived on time. Couple 2, as usual, were unfashionable late. After leaving The IKEA Baltimore, there was three things for sure. 1. The Swedes have excellent furniture. 2. We spent 2 hours walking around the giant maze of modern preassembled Zen furniture, we became overwhelmed and didn’t buy a damn thing. Which leads to #3. We were left feeling unfilled and hungry. After an ETA check on, Couple 2, (2hours late at this point), we decided to have a bite to eat at The Tilted Kilt in The Avenue at White Marsh. It was, to my surprise, that the restaurant was a PG-rated Irish pub. The wait staff was scarcely dressed. The men in T-shirts, long socks and . you guessed it kilts. However, the women have on a half white shirts, a bra, two cup sizes too small(major spillage) and a very short mini skirt. Kind of like eating at a Victoria’s Secret. We were seated promptly, great atmosphere, flare on the walls flat screen tvs with sports on. Food review to follow
Don’t pass the salt. Overall the food was good, but everything was so salty! I’m a fan of salt, although I typically try to watch my intake, but the salt in the clams overroad the rest of the flavors. It had plenty of garlic and spice and did not need so much salt. Same thing with the grilled salmon. It was cooked really well (moist and tender), but was so salty.
