The bartender was either having a horrible night or she hates her life
Insulted. Went Ponzetti’s for the first time this summer and the visit was an insult. Chicken tenders were visibly overcooked and chewy. The plain cheese pizza came out luke warm but the crust was burned. By the time we each finished our first piece of pizza, the remaining pie was ice cold. Ponzetti’s offers half-cooked pizzas to go – I can only assume that our pizza was premade and reheated for us, not freshly made when we ordered. The chicken ceasar salad was gross. Old lettuce that that was black and had obviously been around for a while. The older lettuce was tossed in with some fresh so that it was hidden – over 1/2 of the salad was inedible. Too much dressing, even after we had requested dressing on the side. To add insult to injury, when our dissatisfaction was brought to the attention of our waitress, she was simply shrugged and said she was sorry. She could see that the salad was inedible but never offered to bring out fresh food. The icing on the cake was when she never brought us our change – she probably figured she needed to keep the $1.46 because that would be the only tip she would get from us. I am a local and am always being asked about local restaurants. Ponzetti’s needs to realize they’ve got much superior competition in the area.
The best pizza in OC. My family loves the pizza at Ponzetti’s. The toppings are piled on, the sauce is delicious but the crust is the best part. The crust is nice and crispy on the outside yet moist and chewy on the inside. Great pizza, cold beer and a neat atmosphere!
We come every years hen we come to the beach. Best pizza! Only two blocks from where we stay. Obvious why it’s been here since 1962. Wine selections could be better.
Everyone happy!. This was our first trip to Ponzetti’s since they left the boardwalk. 4 adults & 4 kids and everyone loved the wings, cheese sticks and pizza. The service was fast and we all left happy!
Love this place. I’ve been a ponzettis fan since the early 1980s when i lived on Dorchester Street and hit up the boardwalk location. We happily drive 45 minutes down from Delaware to get a veggie pizza for lunch on the weekend since a good pie is hard to find…they load up the crust with garlic and i dig that. Side note – Ponzettis upports the local surfing community by having surf movie night from time to time so if your into wave riding, these guys are too.
A locals favorite for a reason! Pizza and a movie!
