We ordered rocko tacos and enchiladas. The rockfish in the tacos was good(these are pretty plain tacos, just the fish and shredded cabbage though), but the hard taco shells were stale. The chicken enchilada had cubed pieces of chicken instead of the shredded overcooked chicken most places have, which was very good. The popeye enchilada is black bean, spinach, & mushrooms, plus cheese, which is pretty unique, but awesome. The cheese and onion enchilada has a red sauce that was much, much hotter than expected. Beware of that one if you don’t like or can’t eat spicy foods. We came between 3-4 pm because we know how busy this place gets, which was a good time, although it still seemed like there weren’t enough waitresses. We had to wait on drinks and additional requested items a little longer than we would have liked. So all in all, it was okay, but no big reason to come back.
Hands down, the best bar in Ocean City!!! Had such a blast!! Dale, the owner is amazing! You have to go here while in Ocean City! Ask for Chase as your waiter! Can’t say enough amazing things about Tequila Mockingbird! Plus, it has the most creative name ever!
Very good tex mex, great margaritas, excellent service. If you have kids, go early. There is no waiting area and wait times can be long. If you endure, you’ll be rewarded with an awesome experience.
You could do better. Pricy, mediocre Mexican food and lackadaisical service in a run-down environment. C-
Basic east coast mexican. Being a west coast native it’s hard finding decent, much less authentic, mexican food this side of the mississippi, and i didn’t hold out a lot of hope for a restaurant that is more known for its drinking. that said, the service was fast, the portions were large, and the food was good. fish tacos came with a generous amount of grilled fish (not breaded fish stix), steak tacos were equally generous, and the enchiladas were passable, with the chicken a little blander than the beef which was swimming in sauce. it’s a tourist trap town and the restaurants reflect that, but this was a good family option for us.
Love it.. We go to T. Mockingbird at least 2 times per summer. We ALWAYS go on the 4th of July and then walk to the park behind the restaurant to watch the fireworks. It has to be their most crowded and crazy day of the year but we happily wait over an hour for a table (because we plan for it). Even though it’s CRAZY busy on the 4th, the staff is always in good spirits and prompt. The food is great and the margaritas are delicious.
Great margarita’s, nice atmosphere, large portions, and consistently good food. The dishes aren’t extravagant or cutting-edge, but the ingredients are fresh and the food is always good. I suggest the rocko tacos or the portabello fajitas. Long waits but fast service. Quite the local hangout! Always a favorite and is a necessary stop on our vacation agenda each year!
