Amateurish but okay.. Bagels by US is now a restaurant that is as awkward and clutzy as its name. They started out as a bagel shop, though they are not a bakery. They bring in their bagels from H&H in Manhattan. As a result they lack that fresh baked taste, instead they are fairly okay but very bready and chewy like a day-old bagel. They now have a full diner menu with breakfast and lunch items. The decor was apparently done at a minimal budget, with what seems like 3rd hand chairs and tables scored from a recreation center. They are wobbly and uncomfortable. The place is ugly and echoey. You have to see it to believe it, but they have section of plastic outdoor picket fencing and a gate inside the restaurant. They use it to separate table service from counter service customers. Service is homey, friendly and reasonably fast. The food is okay but not a great value or special in any way. The bagels are very expensive – well over $1.25 a piece. They could source fresh local bagels and cut the cost by a third.
