The idea to bring La Voile to Boston came about by a Swiss-American named Pierre, a reporter-photographer, also a sailor by choice & owner of a superbe sailing yacht moored directly across from the restaurant. He soon became a regular customer and a good friend. Over time & many glasses of wine, the plan to open a restaurant in Boston together was hatched.Everything was brought over the zinc bar, the tables and chairs, the wooden wine fridge (an old Butchers fridge), the marble console, the vintage chandeliers, sailing pictures, the entrance door even the staff! you can admire on the walls the unique and private collection of Pierre work, From Dali to Steve McQueen, through Catherine Deneuve and Hubert Beuve-Mry.The Cuisine is evidently French and authentic, with some Mridional dishes like the Soupe de Poisson (Fish Soup) or the Loup de Mer (Seabass) imported fresh from the Mediterranean. These dishes will surely conjure up memories of your last trip to the South of France or Paris. The Chef, Raphael, prepares all les incontournables of french regions (Rillettes du Mans, Escargots de Bourgogne, Magret de Canard)

This is a predominantly French cuisine restaurant in the very chic Newbury Street. It has a small outside patio and a big basement interior. Most of the servers speak French (as well as English) but our waiter, who spoke excellent French, turned out to be Mexican! Their $45 fixed price menu had, for us, starters and mains we would have chosen from the a la carte menu. My wife had a goat’s cheese salad to start and duck breast; I had foie grass and marmalade chutney followed by snapper fillet all of which (apart from the salad, which had too much dressing on it) was delicious. The wines were almost all French. My wife opted for glasses of Provenal rose, couldn’t decide between two, asked for and got advice and was given a taster of both to help her decide. I opted for a Malbec from Cahors which proved a good choice. All in all a very enjoyable meal and we will return on our next trip to Boston.

esk recenze dole…Perfect restaurant on Newbury Street, which offers French cuisine. Especially around lunch and dinner there is a lot and I recommend booking. I can confirm that the food is authentic and transferred here a taste of France. Here you can taste a little bit of French decadence in serving foie gras … The service was friendly, the waiter always knew he was add water, bring excellent wine. He was very attentive. Blot on an otherwise clean slate was the slowness of the chef, who cooked delicious meals. At lunch time we ordered food not on the lunch menu, but the menu a la carte. So the food we got up after an hour, which would have been at least a free dessert. Unfortunately, none of the waiters did not mention that it was long and no excuse not. So I have mixed feelings. It is worth it to come here and taste the delicious food, but wait, I really do not want so long. However, if the good company of friends as it can possibly endure. But during that time you can drink a bottle of wine … Otherwise, but for the atmosphere lively and good food and drink recommended. Perfektn restaurace na Newbury street, kter nabz francouzskou kuchyni. Hlavn kolem obda a veee je tu plno a doporuuji rezervaci. Mu potvrdit, e jdla jsou autentick a penesou sem chu Francie. Ochutnte tu i trochu francouzsk dekadence v porci foie gras… Take pocity mm smen.

Just look at all these other reviews – uniformly positive! How rare is that, especially for a pricey French restaurant in Back Bay? There are many competent French bistros and brasseries in Boston but few that actually feel like you’ve stepped off Newbury Street and directly into Montmartre in Paris. The waiters speak French, they dash to and fro with gallic zest, and the food is simple, straight-forward, classic Cuisine Franaise. We had their prix-fixe menu last night, $40 for three courses. I selected a buttery pate foie gras (duck liver terrine) with toast points and apricot compote, followed by a terrific steak frites. The steak was topped with richly caramelized onions and the fries were seasoned perfectly and arrived hot. The default dessert was some kind of genoise cake with cream filling — perfectly serviceable but it made me wish I had chosen from the regular menu rather than the prix-fixe, because the Crme brle at the next table looked so much better!

Wonderful!!. First, if you don’t like the French or French food, then you should skip this restaurant. It’s very French! but my husband and I LOVED that about it.We had a wonderful meal & experience here. The employees truly are French! and it was fun to hear them & speak some French ourselves. My husband and I have both lived in France, and the food tasted just like some of our best meals there. He ordered the traditional fish soup (delicious) as a starter and salmon for the main course. I ordered the beef prepared two ways, which I thought was truly fantastic. The wine selection was excellent, and we were able to choose a delicious bottle of red from southern France. For dessert, I chose a tarte tatin (very good) and my husband had a tarte with red fruits. That, too, was excellent. We LOVED this restaurant and wish we lived closer, because we would eat here all the time! We had a delicious meal in a cozy and very French atmosphere with great service.
