One word…perfect.
Sweet Cupcakes. Bought a bunch of cupcakes here around Thanksgiving. Were very pretty. Most were tasty except STEER CLEAR of the salted chocolate ones. My family loves salty/sweet and looked very forward to them. They should have been salted on the top with the coarse salt but apparently the baker mixed a large amount in the batter. They were horrendous-inedible. My daughter’s boyfriend is a chef and he said a place with Sweet’s reputation should not have made such a rookie mistake. I was disappointed. I am glad we tasted one. I would have been very embarrassed if I had brought them somewhere as a guest.
Best cupcakes in Boston. You better believe it! (And I’ve tried a lot of cupcakes in Boston!) Every cupcake is divine, but my personal favorite is the organic carrot. Just enough (but not too much) buttercream, which is to die for. Made fresh every day, and it tastes like it, too. I love the atmosphere. Pink, like an old candy shop or bakery with An American in Paris or (my favorite) Roman Holiday playing silently in the background. Yes, I think Sweet is my kind of place.
I don’t eat a lot of cupcakes, but those were some damn good cupcakes.
