Birthday Girl. My husband & I were on holiday in Boston from Scotland and had a meal in Flemings last Sunday 9th Nov. We enjoyed it so much we reserved a table for Wednesday 12th as it was my birthday. I was asked if we were celebrating and I mentioned it was my birthday. They all wished me a happy birthday, I got a card, complimentary desserts and chocolates on leaving. I was amazed and thrilled with the lovely meal and the special attention given to me. The staff were all amazing and this restaurant is well worth a visit. Thank you so much from Mr & Mrs. Boston from Scotland. You made my day.
Beware. In recent weeks, I have been fortunate to have the wonderful experience of dining at several of greater Bostons finest premium steak houses (Abe and Louies, Capitol Grill, Strega Prime). Last night my wife and I decided to try Flemings in Boston prior to a visit to the theater. Though Flemings price points were the same, Id like to caution you that if you visit Flemings expecting a similar experience to those other great establishments, you will be sadly and profoundly disappointed.I potentially could have tolerated children from a nearby table running around the restaurant with those red blinking LED sneakers. I could have tolerated the waiter demanding IDs when we ordered a bottle of wine like we were 18 year old prom kids trying to slip one by him at the Hilltop. I could have even forgiven the inordinate amount of time it took for the waiter to bring me that bottle of wine. What I could not forgive was the great disrespect showed for the proud steer that gave his life that I may revel in their signature dry aged sirloin strip steak. Though I ordered the steak to be cooked medium, it came out completely raw (old, red and gelatinous in the center). I sent the steak back to be cooked a bit more and it came back shriveled up and charcoal burned on the outside as if they used a blow torch to complete the cooking the process. Though they placed a pad of butter on top of the steak in an attempt to sooth its scorched flesh, the net result was a horrible, nearly inedible slab unrecognizable meat burned beyond recognition.Though they did give us a $25.00 gift card for our inconvenience, we left it on the table as going back to Fleming’s to me would be tantamount to requesting a second kick in the groin area as compensation for the discomfort of the first. If you are looking for Mortons prices with a Sizzler experience, then Fleming’s is the place for you. Otherwise Id recommend steering clear of the place.
Nice meal. My daughter and I had a very nice dinner experience here. Food was solid chain fare but well prepared and excellent quality. Service was attentive but not intrusive, and the host honored our seating request perfectly. Very good choice in the theater district or a short walk from Copley Square and much better than anything you will find there. Definite do again! Doug
Surprised by a Chain. I admit i was not excited about dinner at Fleming’s simply based on it’s national chain status. However, I was greatly surprised. While my steak was good, the seafood platter was incredible. If i return to Fleming’s, I will be sure to focus on the seafood as it was some of the best I have had in a long time.
Try the prix fixe menu. Absolutely good steak, and great preparation on other food too.ordered from the prix fixe menu, still got a regular-sized portion of great stuff. can’t really complain there.except that the red wine i ordered (think i did go w/their pairing recommendation) was very sub-par. tasted worse than a cheap supermarket brand wine…service… not bad, if not personable either. but at least i didn’t get looked down upon for not dressing up (forgot about dinner so only wore a fleece and jeans type of outfit to work, carrying my laptop bag and all…). kudos for that.last note: i’m not sure if they have validated parking in the nearby lot. the restaurants around it do, so it’s worth to ask.:)
The service was very attentive and professional. The food arrived promptly. The place is large with several rooms. We had the $34 price fixe special which was a bargain. Highly recommend it.
Amazing. I had the best filet I have had in a long time this weekend at Flemings. Not to mention the enormous selection of wine they offer to compliment their delicious food. I highly recommend it
