Decent meal at an odd location. I’ve been eating out a lot in Boston, and that sent me to this odd location in Brookline Village on Route 9. On the plus side, it’s a 5-minute walk from the BV station on the D line. The meal was very competent. My friend and I both ordered the fixed-price four-course meal ($35). The beet salad was good, with just the right amount of tasty dressing. My orrechiette with guanciale was a little too al dente, and it drew attention to the fact that it was not housemade. The pork loin with local, fresh kale was quite good, but I have no recollection of the dessert whatsoever. What I do remember is the decent moscato I had with it; indeed, the four-course wine pairing was only $15 and all worth drinking (though nothing remarkable). While I’m thinking of it, the prosecco we ordered to start was a little sweet for my taste, but OK. All in all, this was a competent night out for $50 per person. Recommended.
Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. Excellent upscale Italian dining. My only complaint is that the food took nearly an hour and a half to reach our table… Not the best service, either.
Delicious. The cicchetti were delicious. The sage leaves, pate, meatballs, and salt cod were all excellent. The mains were good sized and cooked perfectly. The whole fish was my favorite. The veal and lamb were excellent also. The sorbet was light but full of fruity flavor. The service was top notch.
I was suprised by the rating as this is one of our favorite restaurants. It is semi-casual. The food is consistantly good. The staff is freindly and helpful. Price is great. Tom & Gisselle several of the Red Sox and Mr Kraft are regulars. The only thing I might say is less than stellar is that desserts slipped for a whileafter they lost their pastry chef but the most recent one is doing better. Definately a restaurant worth going to.
Always a pleasure. My husband and I have been going to La Morra since 2004 for special events such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The food is outstanding and the service good. The wine pairing menus are always delicious. We never have trouble finding parking. I highly recommend it.
