My family and i go to oishi at least two times a week because of how close it is to our house and how delishious the food is. Trust me once you go there once, you will fall in love with the food and have to go again, and again, and again… Oishi is a wonderful restaurant and has a great price

This hole in the wall sushi joint has a long line acting as a fire hazard to any exiting customers, the it is worth the wait. Great sushi and nice staff (even though they are busy all the time)

Best i’ve had in boston. Let’s face it: i could have my last bite of sushi from this place and die happy.thus far the only authentic sushi place i find (which i can also afford to go more than once a year) in boston. i’ve had quite some horrible experiences as i experimented around the city before. since i landed on this place i never ventured outside of its realm. i don’t remember a single time i went that i didn’t order a la carte (note: i seldom do that in many other sushi places). quality remains high and rather consistent every time i go (ahem, except that last year i went there for lunch. a little disappointed both on food and service). love their torched yellowtail roll (must have), spicy crispy toro gukan (it’s exactly what it says), sweet shrimps sashimi (make sure you suck their brains out too!!), among many other specialty rolls–ones that are not named after patrons. the squid roll (dragon eye?) offers a refreshing riceless alternative to traditional rolls, although some people don’t like the aroma of that–what’s it called?–leaf inside. had the super fatty toro one time, wished i ordered rice with it. fatty is good, but THAT was a sheer overdose on fish oil. the one-time special fois gras sushi w/uni(?) was not all that special; should have tried the blowfish that was available then instead. will they EVER bring that back on the special??? i sure hope they do; i’ve been feeling deep regret about the missed opportunity till this day. love and hate the small space: it’s cozy but at the same time it also means the wait can easily be more than hour-long. if you want to get a seat without waiting, go early. and this includes weekends and lunch time. p.s. they’re also closed on monday, usually when i think of going. arrr! 🙂

Best sushi in the Boston area! Expect a long wait on Friday or Saturday night. Best bet is lunch, same menu, often no wait.

Best sushi in boston!!!. No one else compares…easily the best sushi restaurant in bean town. tell me you can get toro like that for the same price anywhere else.

The Japanese wife said this is the best sushi in Boston and I agree! The only problem is the size of this place. There are just a few tables and the bar fitting no more than 16 ppl but the wait is worth it.
