I have been hearing about this place for months now and I finally went for brunch with a couple of friends to try their food (but was too full my the time we thought of dessert, although I have to say that I’m definitely going back for them because they looked SO GOOD) We ordered their famous SHAKSHUKA, which was new to me because this was the first time I was ever trying this dish. It’s of Arabic origin and is basically poached eggs in tomato sauce, usually with a ton of spices and cumin. I haven’t tried it anywhere other than Tatte, so it wasn’t spicy, but was still pretty flavorful. I have to say it wasn’t the best thing I had because there wasn’t anything special about it, but it was definitely something everyone should try because some people really like it. We also ordered their AVOCADO TOAST and their TOMATO SOUP. I personally love avocado so the toast was obviously something I adored. The tomato soup was pretty basic but that’s what we wanted to go with our food. I have to give a shoutout though to their NUTBOX – I’m not a huge fan of nuts but their nut box is so popular and I can see why. It’s got a mix of salt and praline with just the right amount of crunchiness. It’s the most unique snack option I’ve seen in Boston and should be a MUST on your list! I’m definitely going to go their and try their pastries and cookies – and I have a strong feeling I won’t be disappointed.UPDATE: Went back here to try their B.L.A.T and raspberry cheesecake and I have to say – those are two of the best things I’ve had at Tatte. Highly recommend everyone to try them, especially if it’s your cheat day!
The cutest bakery in Brookline! Tatte’s space is cozy and inviting, if tiny. The line can get long, but their pastries are worth the wait: incredible, classic offerings and some unique ones as well. The pistachio croissant is so good that we went back on another day to get it again. thenobbylife.wordpress.com
I just moved down the street from this bakery this week and have already been here 3x. It has the cutest set up and friendliest staff. I have yet to have anything off the food menus, but I did try a flourless Belgian walnut brownie. My favorite drinks here are the mint lemonade and iced mocha.
Great spot for breakfast but smaller of the Tatte Bakery so get their early and make use of the outdoor space. The egg sandwich that I had was just how I expected it to taste but better. firstandwarren.com
