I would start by saying that I just love this place 🙂 While I was at Cambridge, MA for about 6 weeks, I found it very difficult to get decent gluten free food as every other place was either serving sandwiches/burgers or boring salads. This was the only place which served hot food that was gluten free. I went here about 6 times and each time I gorged on the Chicken Shawarma meal. This is a self serve restaurant so service is out of the question in this review. You choose a meal from a huge menu listed and each item has a number associated with it. This makes it easier while placing the order. You can finish your meal with a sweet baklava 🙂 buttertheory.com

I work in a pretty isolated building in East Cambridge, and the moment we discovered Aceituna was one of the happiest workdays in recent memory. This is my office’s go-to catering spot for lunch meetings and conferences, since it always leaves us satisfied and our colleagues impressed. They make it so easy! You just tell them how many people will be eating, and they’ll deliver tin parcels full of Mediterranean morsels right to your conference room. Hummus, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, Greek salad, chicken and beef shawarma, rice, and pita are the staples. Mix and match. You can’t go wrong. If you want to end the meeting on a sweet note, don’t skip the baklava. It’s honey-nutty-flaky ratios are just right. My biggest piece of advice is to decrease the amount of people you’re ordering for by about 5. THERE’S ALWAYS SO MUCH FOOD LEFT OVER. It’s delectable, but you can only gorge on so much pita and hummus. Plus it’ll cost you even less (just keep the number you told them in mind if you’re also getting canned drinks and utensils, since they will count these out accordingly).Even by ordering for fewer people than we’re feeding, we always have leftovers for days. But I’m not complaining. Aceituna, thanks for bringing the Mediterranean diet to the mouths of East Cambridge.

EXCELLENT. Great food, very fresh and I have never had any Mediterranean food. Ordered catering for one of our Saudi interns and Pasqual (spelling) helped me placed the order which was excellent. I must’ve called him three times since I had placed the order and he was always very friendly/understanding as to what my needs were. They delivered on time and the food was very fresh and very delicious. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to com to Aceituna….

Value could be better. As I work at BU, the only good shawarma place nearby that I have found is Garlic N’ Lemons in Allston. Really great food and great saj wraps. However, I live in Somerville and so I wanted to find a place closer to home…and so I eventually found Aceituna Cafe. I ordered the beef shawarma wrap. While the taste was good, the small amount of meat offered for the price ($7.76 including tax) does not represent a good value. In fact, it is not really worth it. For $1 less, you can get an equally tasty wrap with more meat at Garlic N’ Lemons. I’m still waiting for a great shawarma place to hit Boston, much like the ones I have found during my trips to London.

Great Food. I love Aceituna Caf. The food is to die for so fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly always. I wish they were open on the weekends. Good stuff for cheap prices.
