I was here back in Feb-2015. I was put up at 6 Cambridge Center and after work, I wanted to go to a bar close by. Yelp was very helpful in finding this place which was rated 4star. I walked about 0.8 miles to reach here in severe weather as it was snowing at that time of the year. The road looked pretty deserted at about 9PM. I was stopped at the door and asked for ID proof. I showed my passport and I was all set!As soon as I entered, the dim lights were very pleasing. The music was just perfect. On this day, a band was going to perform. The band’s name is ‘Hayley Jane and the Primates’. All the band members were at the Bar when I reached, but I just didn’t know they were band members!! The show was slated to start at 10:30PM.Hayley was quite active ; moving around talking to everyone, some of her friends had come to watch them. She was still writing lyrics before the show started!Coming to the service, the bar tender NIM was very helpful in getting me my food and drinks. I’m happy to say he’s the best bar tender I met in Boston :)He helped me choose a good wine and it was amazing.I also had chicken wings, the taste of which was excellent and quantity beyond expectations. I had to push myself to finish them!!At 10:30PM, the band’s performance started and I was really taken aback at the quality of the singer, Hayley. I stood up and started taking videos of their performance. I initially planned to leave after a song, but changed my mind and stayed for their entire stint, which was about 2hours long. I later spoke to them and congratulated them for making my stay at Atwood’s Tavern worthwhile :)I later learnt that this place is one of those very few places that has live bands performing. Check their website and they’re pretty up-to date on the performances to come for the next 2 weeks! The only reason I’m not giving this place a 5star rating is that there isn’t much crowd, cos I was here twice and at both times, it was only about 60% full. buttertheory.com

If I didn’t live in VA, I’d be a regular!. This is such a wonderful tavern – it’s classy, creative, friendly, and most importantly, it’s comfortable! The food is excellent, the beverages options are seemingly unlimited, the music is fantastic and the staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. I grew up in the Boston area and my family still lives there, so everytime I go back to visit, Atwoods is the place to be!
