Allergen Warning to Patrons. I came to Bambara after buying a Gilt City voucher for a 5 Course Lobster Dinner with Wine pairing. Here’s how the meal went:Warm Butter Lobster Sliders – The dish was nice because.. I like butter and I like bread. Those were the stars of the dish hands down. The spoonful of diced lobster placed within the roll could barely be tasted as the delicious completely overpowered the lobster.Poached Lobster Salad with WIlted Pea greens, Scallions and Pickled Daikon – The salad that came atop the, once again diced lobster, was delicious. One of the best dishes of the meal. Once again, the lobster felt like more of an accompaniment to the dish rather than the star. Though the best dish of the night, I had to stop short. Details to follow at the end.Lobster and Fava Bean Ravioli – This dish would’ve been best described as Fava bean Ravioli with Lobster instead. The dish consisted of petite fava bean ravioli with, once again, diced lobster on the bottom with some meat, fresh asparagus and a delicious broth. This dish tasted pretty good and had some spice to it which was nice. But once again, start of the dish? Broth.Grilled Lobster Tail with Creamy Lobster Polenta – This dish.. finally. The star. Lobster. By just a hair. The polenta was a bit bland but it was nice to finally see a part of the chicken lobster they used for my meal not diced up.Bread Pudding – I love bread pudding. It was nice. It came topped with bananas, a bit of caramelized sugar and caramel. I would definitely go for the bread pudding. If I had to go back. These five meals came with.. a bottle of wine.So what I paid for was a 5 course lobster meal with wine pairing. It would be best described as a 5 course meal With lobster and a $10 Bottle of wine. The voucher cost $100. Usually a voucher would feel like a good deal but I felt that I would never pay more than I did for a meal of this caliber. I didn’t feel ripped off, but I definitely felt like this meal was a bit on the expensive side even with the gilt city price I paid. Now for the reason why I would never come back. One of the better dishes of the night, the poached *ahem* lobster salad, I had to stop because I started having an allergic reaction. I didn’t really care much for it because my usual allergic reaction isn’t deadly and I don’t blame them because I didn’t bring it to their attention. The reason why I care and that I would never go back is because of the way it was handled and the fact that it was a PEANUT allergy that I have. A pretty common and deadly allergy to most people.I had no intentions of asking for anything as compensation or my money back.. as.. I had already paid for the meal through gilt city and I really couldn’t blame them since I didn’t inform them of my allergies.. which for the most part in these situations had been okay since it’d be obvious if the meal had peanuts. So I asked the waitress just to make sure whether or not there were peanuts, despite the fact that I was already having a reaction. So she decided to go ask the chef for me.I had to give the chef props though for coming out and checking to see if things were okay… with the table behind me. I think it was either their first time there or that one of their dishes had an issue so the head chef came out to make sure everything was okay. Coming out to take a breather because you had time for such a small thing. The waitress came back to me later and told me there were absolutely NO PEANUTS at all on the line and that there were no peanuts in the dish that I was, at the time, having an allergic reaction to.Now… There’s only 1 of 2 things that I could see that might’ve happened here.1. They panicked and lied to me.2. They were telling the truth. That they had no actual peanuts on the line but one of the components in the salad contained peanuts. The issue with this scenario is that in a place where they pride themselves on knowing where their food came from, its sad that they wouldn’t know about such an important detail about one of the components of their dish.Branching off from there, I don’t see a scenario where I would ever return. And as a warning to those that are considering coming here but have allergies, don’t. They might not know exactly what’s in their dishes and can’t guarantee your safety. So please save the trouble and the trip to the hospital and go eat somewhere else.

Good food, awful service. The goods – the scallops are amazing, so delicious!!!!! The kids loved the fries and chicken tenders!!! the bad – Worst service I have had since going to an IHOP years ago, empty glasses, 3 different waiters, wrong food, took 10 min at least to get a drink, took 20 min to settle the tab. It was truly awful. We are staying in the hotel and will avoid this place at all costs for the rest of our stay

Awesome for lunch!. Bambara is definitely one of my favorite go-to lunch spots when I want a nice escape from the office and those typical everyday lunches. The interior is super modern and hip and the menu is very creative. They have a great express power lunch – 3 courses in 30 minutes or less for only $14 – and amazing homemade lemonades!Their entree salads are huge and filled with fresh ingredients. Their soups are really delicious and their sandwiches are very generous and come with either fries or a mixed green salad. My favorites are the grilled cheese & tomato soup – perfect on a cold day and the grilled eggplant panini, which is full of greens and fresh mozarella served on a toasted focaccia bread. Mmmm…
