Went here to grab a quick quality lunch. I was hesitant due to the previous 2 reviews but decided to check it out and order once I got there, even thou I was taking it back to my hotel. While waiting to order there was a large group raving about the food and telling the guy at the front how great it was. I asked what they had and the guy pointed to their table and said basically one of everything, so u decided to try it. I ordered and about 15 minutes later my food was ready. Chicken and broccoli risotto, a side of meatballs and the gf had chicken something, it had gorgonzola cheese. When I returned to the hotel I opened the food and thought the risotto looks like it had an awful lot of liquid and assumed it was going to be mush from the previous reviews. It was not. I loved it. The plate my gf had was very delicious as well, probably better than mine taste wise. It was a little light in sauce but it was delicious. The meatballs side dish wasn’t anything to write home about but it was still quality. The guy at the ordering station thanked me before I left and had a smile on his face. I will definitely go back when I am back in town.

Having been pointed in the direction of Basta pasta by the local stoop sitters and being hungry, I went to Basta Pasta. It’s hard to judge a cafe/takeaway on one dish, but what I found was pasta that was far past it’s al dente stage. The meatballs were ok, the pasta was el cheapo and the aroma was of mixed herbs. Disappointing. It was possible to buy the meatballs in tomato sauce without the pasta and then bring it home and cook your own pasta.Common sense should tell you that if from the time of ordering less that 4 minutes pass, everything is pre cooked and your chances of getting any type of quality went by the board .In an area short on takeaway food, this may be as good as it gets.

Stolen Purse. Wife got her purse stolen from this place recently. Went back the next day and chatted with a guy at the counter….not helpful, to be honest rude. Asked for a call from the owner…..nothing. The place is small and hard to believe someone didn’t see something especially since the place is only like 600 square feet; and there was only 2 other people in the resturant at that time. Never going back to this place.

Awesome local find. I had the special of the day: wheat pasta radiolly or something like that and it was the best Itailian food I’ve had in a long time. I would highly recommend but you are going for the food and people not the atmosphere.

Hidden Italian Restaurant. Blink you might miss this small restaurant in a predominate residential street. but Basta Pasta serves up the home made Italian dishes that you want to stop for. The small store front has about 16 chairs. Order at the counter and you can watch the cooks at work. Once people leave, the tables are cleaned right up. The sauce is rich with chunks of tomatoes and basil and topped off with a generous amount of Parmesan cheese. Pasta is al dente and the meatballs were cooked straight through. The menu also has pizza and panini sandwiches. Prices are very affordable for just about any dish. Order is rushed but that is only because there is a constant line up people at the counter. No delivery is available. Majority of parking in the area is by permit.

My wife and I randomly picked this place. We saw the positive percentage and took a chance. Yeah, this place was great. The food honestly is really good. The price is is cheap but NO WHERE reflects the the quality of taste and quaint atmosphere. You won’t be displeased.

Place is awesome. Cozy and warm. Great taste. Good prices. HUGE plates. One order will feed 2.
