(This review is for the Harvard Science Center food truck.) I have tried the Bon Me noodle salad, salad-salad and rice bowls. Love the salads on a hot day & rice bowls in the winter. The line can be daunting at lunchtime, but really moves quite quickly, and the chopstick/napkin/sriracha table is always miraculously tidy. If you are there at a busy lunch time, for the live of all that is holy, know what you want when you get to the front of the line (not difficult; the menu is easy & the staff friendly). thebostonfashionista.com
Bon Me is the lesser equivalent to a Vietnamese version of Chipotle. If you’ve found your palate craving the fresh flavors of Vietnamese cuisine (…cilantro, mint, basil, and dichon…) you will be dissapointed by Bon Me. All though preparation time was unbelieveably fast, it came at the expense of ingredient quality. The BBQ pork tasted like it had been cooked the night before and reheated in a microwave, the rice tasted chewey from dehydration, and the leafy garnish left much to be desired.The drinks were the only redeeming quality of the meal.Moral: Only go to Bon Me if you are desparate for time, and looking for something that will leave you feeling slightly less dissapointed than the Wendy’s dollar menu.
