Hi-Rise? Eeek, me thinks not!!!. Do yourself a favor and skip this place!The bread and pastries are decent but are waaaaayyyyy overpriced. They really should rename the place Hi Price Bakery. That would still be tolerable if the staff would be polite but I have rarely encountered a more arrogant, stuck-up and down right rude group of people. It seems to be a requirement for employment at Hi Rise to loath customers. For a much more enjoyable experience head to Harvard Square instead or to Whole Foods at Fresh Ponds.
4Bs (Best Bread Bakery in Boston). Beside the killer sourdough boules, baguettes, corn bread, hallah and especially the semolina bread, there’s are the other-worldy babkas, perfect old-school pound cakes and… well; I could run down the entire card for you but it’s making me hungry. I live nearby and regularly chow on the diverse baked goods and sandwich fare (as good as the bread its made with).These are the kings of flour and the masters of yeast.Rilly (and no, I’m not shilling for them/just a customer :?).
Mmmm bread…. Actually they have more choices for bread than in the pie company…And most of all, they have daily bread, which is even better than their concord loaf.The place is very nice too, but they don’t have the outdoor as on Brattle street.
