The only time I’ve ever been to Meadhall is for alumni events during which they’ve rented out the room on the second floor. It’s a solid space for a casual event, but I’m not sure if I would come of my own accord. On a Thursday around 7 PM, the first floor is already crowded and loud. The second floor is a bit calmer, but as more people start to arrive, the noise levels rise as well. The room is simple, carpeted with a table on the side for the appetizers, which they bring out throughout the event. We’re hungry, poor young alums, so the food disappears pretty quickly, and it takes a while for them to restock. The hummus is yummus with some spiciness to it and served with big, crunchy chunks of pita crisps. The fries are also a stand-out, as they are tossed with salt and Parmesan which pair perfectly with whatever you’re drinking. I’ve also tried the sliders, which were a bit dry for me, but a good size. They also brought out little pots of random vinegared vegetables and fruits (squash, zucchini, peach) which I didn’t really understand. But I ate anyway because hey, this is dinner. One positive thing about the second-floor space is that there is another bar up there so you don’t have to venture far for your libations. The variety of drinks is pretty spectacular! I’ve tried the mead because, well, you kind of have to, and it was sweet and strong. Their beer offerings in both bottles and on drought is pretty impression, and the bartenders are typically good about helping you make your decision. The drink prices are pretty standard for a nicer Cambridge bar (generally $6-7).I enjoy events at Meadhall because of the drink selections and some tasty apps, but mostly I enjoy them because of the place’s convenient location close to Kendall T stop and good company. I’ll definitely be in attendance if our alumni association does another event here, which they probably will. And I’ll again enjoy my drink and eat every appetizer I can get my hands on.

Love Meadhall! The bartenders are eager to make suggestions that fit your palate and you may like, yummy selection of apps. Great location, but watch out for the after work crowd. Just don’t ask for Sam Adams, this isn’t that kind of place! For real craft beer lovers and enthusiasts.

I’ve been to Meadhall several times while in Boston. I come for the fantastic selection of beer’s. One of my favorites happens to be a bottled Trappist Roquefort 10 ( which was introduced to me here at the Meadhall )I’ve only ever had the appetizers. The chicken wings were small in size but had a good flavor. The Pomme Frits were crispy and had shaved truffels and parmesan My only issue has ever been with the crowd and the service. They get BUSY after 5pm and the staff knows it. Tables are reserved for diners, and the bar space is always over full. You either have to come really early to get a spot, or just hover and wait and hope for a spot to open. Also, this is not a place for quiet conversations. The noise level can be pretty high on a busy night. That being said, I will be back. (just maybe a bit early for a decent seat…)

A favorite. This is easily on my top 3 places to grab a beer in the city, and top 5 as a place to eat. The tap selection is endless and organized in-menu by type of beer. What they don’t have on tap they have in bottle selection. I love grabbing a beer here after work with friends but I also have come here several times for dinner with the misses. The menu is dynamic and fresh and as a vegetarian I’m happy with the multiple options for me.
