Moqueca, brazil’s bouillabaisse!. Best black bean soup i’ ve ever consumed!…moqueca shrimp & muscles served w/rice and fish sauce…a light tomato sauce w/hints of herbs and cilantro…presented in a rustic clay pot…exquisite national dish.

Eat here!! You won’t be sorry!Muqueca is amazing and you will have so much deliciousiousness dancing on your tastebuds, you may not be able to stop. Yeah I know that isn’t a word, but it should be.

Shrimp Bobo heaven. Muqueca, with its effortlessly fun atmosphere, and beyond flavorful seafood dishes, is definitely a neighborhood gem. I’ve had the muqueca and bobo here, and both were too tasty for me to even consider branching out with my menu choices yet. I did see a brilliant looking steak, and when I stop jonesing for the clay pot dishes here, it will be my next adventure. One feature not to miss is the in-house hot sauce. It’s a fiery, garlic-y, delectable mix that will make your eyes water as much as it will make you smile (if you’re into that type of thing). Try it on the yucca chips with the white sauce that accompanies them and you wont be sorry. Lastly, before you leave here you should try the passion fruit mousse. My boyfriend and I had this dessert all the time in the Pantanal in Brazil, but since have not found a suitable replacement. Finally we found Muqueca, whose mousse is authentic, perfectly tangy, and utterly delicious.

Other side of Brazilian. This small restaurant has some of the best seafood dishes in Cambridge. Based on the traditional Brazilian cooking with clay pots, Muqueca cooks up some delicious stews full of flavor. All dishes are made to order. Coconut shrimp and fried plantains were prepared to perfection. The fish filet salad had several big pieces of deep fried fish surrounding a small salad. The main course was served in a clay pot with a side of rice. Big shrimp came out simmering in a sauce of onion, tomato and cilantro. For the price, Muqueca is cheap because you cannot get this much quality food at these prices. The service was slow at times but the staff knew right away what the answer was to any questions about the menu. Parking is limited to street parking for the area. This is a great alternative to the typical seafood or Brazilian restaurants.
