Can it be a well-kept local secret, if two or three dining rooms are always full, and there’s a line out the door on Sunday morning?S&S is something special. Inman Square’s closest thing to a Generican restaurant is one part New England diner, one part New York deli.Ask for your bagel grilled, with the fresh-made scallion cream cheese.
I stopped in at 3pm on a Monday. Had a Reuben, it was pretty good; marble rye was crunchy and corned beef was hot as was the sauerkraut. The prices might be just a touch high, for what your getting, but not outrageous. Chicken salad was acceptable, and the french roll was very nice. Quintessential kosher dill pickles, rounded out the plate, the coleslaw tasted good, if a bit over treated with mayo.
