Two Time Best Sandwich on the Midcape.. The Merc has won the Cape Cod Life best sandwich on the Midcape for the past two years. I have eaten their wonderful breakfast sandwiches and had their catering several times. Their mini-crab cakes and stuffed ‘shrooms are the best. I love their quiches and especially their Italian Stallion and Roast Beef sandwiches. The roast beef is cooked onsite, not pumped full of chemicals like you get in many other places. Their chowder, in my opinion, is better than Captain Parkers. It is a chowder that is creamy and full of clams, but not so thick. It reminds me of the Rhode Island chowders I grew up with.
