Dont waste your time. I laughed when I read the reviews of this place. They were obviously written by owner’s friends. The food was cold and poorly prepared. The owner who prepared my food was rude and obnoxious, also rude to the customer before me. I will never go near this place again. If you’re looking for real food and excellent lattes, go across the street, there’s a great little Italian cafe with a great menu and friendly staff.
Just in time for the holidays!. Stopped in Meridian 155 in East Boston for my morning fix and had a yummy vanilla eggnog latte! I was in holiday bliss…topped it off with a chocolate croissant and I was in heaven. I’ll try a new holiday tease tomorrow. Perhaps a Gingerbread Latte or Peppermint Mocha. The spirit of the holidays, 155 loves. Holiday cheer and great cozy flavors.
Bill and Coffee. First I would like to say that while I don’t think Bill said very nice things in his comment, he is in fact correct about the whole espresso shot thing. They do use an automatic machine and serve espresso in paper cups. However, some sort of flavored coffee drink, to go, would be fine. Otherwise, yes, the owners are very, very nice and fantastic people. Opening a place like this in East Boston is a godsend. It’s perfect for a quick breakfast on the go or an afternoon piece of cake.
I like this place.. I’m fairly new to the Boston area and to Eastie, and find this coffee shop a great asset to the community. The owners are fabulous people! They’re true entrepreneurs, and always take a second put a personal touch to the service. As a newbie to the area, they’re great to chat about the fun places here, answer questions, clarify pronunciations for those of us from away, etc. Apart from the great people and service, I will also say that I like the iced coffee and the pistachio muffins–good times. So don’t waste your time or money at other places on those lazy weekend mornings, just schlep over to 155 (across from the cafe d’italia, which is also fabulous) and have a cup of joe, do a crossword puzzle, etc.
BILL…. Wow I just read all these blogs about Meridian 155. I think that Bill is got some underlying issues with Meridian 155. Meridian 155 has some great drinks….not matter which way they are made. They keeping adding to the menu which makes such a fab place. I have to say the new smoothies are great. MOCHA JAVA is YUMMY!! They have just expaned to serving Paninis. I have been told they are a hit in there. All with a great menu comes a great staff. Everyone is pleasant. They take the time to get to know the customers. Bill you may say the other Cafe has better cappicino but the one thing that keeps me away from that place is the staff. I like to go to a place that is friendly and welcoming. I did not get that feeling there! I am a little confused with Bill….I use this space to write about the good Meridian 155 has to offer. If you say Cafe Italia is so great why have you not taken the time to blog in their section rather than taking time to bash Meridian 155. Bottom line is the drinks are good if it comes out of a machine or made by a barista! Your blog is an opinion just like my blog is an opinion and my opinion is the super auto machine makes great cappuccino PERFECT everytime!! So enjoy sipping you cappuccino from Cafe Italia.
