Had rice, cholay chicken and butter naan here on new year’s eve. The vegetable dishes are also great like aloo bengan. But one downside is that they only accept cash.

Don’t hope for delivery. I wish I could have tried it but they don’t deliver unless its in walking distance. So please ignore the website and don’t get your hopes up (like I did) that they are going to deliver.

Excellent Pakistani Cuisine. I can’t really add much to what other reviews have said already. This is one of the best Pakistani places in Boston, and far cleaner and friendlier than the student-type places in Cambridge. We did not realize that it was cash-only until after our meal, but fortunately there was an ATM across the street at a convenience store. We got a large variety of items and everything was excellent, but the breads were particularly outstanding, fresh and hot and bursting with garlic and ginger.UPDATE: a recent dinner on a Saturday night was quite stressful. The food was excellent as always, but service was very uneven since I think the chef-owner didn’t have any help. There was a large party with a couple of screaming children (who the hell brings toddlers to a Pakistani restaurant at 8pm???) and this, combined with the lack of staff, made for a frustrating, noisy, and unnecessarily slow experience. Towards the end of the meal, another couple with another shrieking baby came in. I am not faulting the restaurant for my damaged eardrums nor am I faulting the infants. I lay the blame squarely on the super indulgent, over entitled, self-involved breeders who lugged their unhappy offspring into a very adult restaurant late at night and proceeded to ignore them and inflict them upon every other diner.

The real deal. Staying in Jeffries Point for a week, & being a lover of Indian food, decided to give mehak a try. We had the Chicken Biriani, the serving was huge, the taste magnificent, & the Shrimp Shaag, also fantastic, & some Rolti. The Biriani was the best i have ever tasted, & i’ve tasted a few in my time. The servings are large. Highly recommend Mehak, if you are a local, do yourself a favour.

Best Indian/Pakistani food in Boston. I had been told that the food was fantastic, so we felt we had to try it out before we left Boston. We went on a weekday evening, were the only ones there for a while, but then some regulars came in, and by regulars I mean they had tried everything on the menu and knew the owner by name. We chose the Shrimp Saag and Chicken Tikka Masala, with a side of naan. The saag was brilliant- this was more than your usual creamy spinach sauce. You could taste and see the different spices in it, and it had just the right amount of heat to it. The tikka was creamy without overdoing it, and also had a slight spice to it. We ended up using the leftover sauce as a dip with the naan– if the sauce for the saag was for sale, I would have bought jars of it.We were served by the son of the owner, who was polite and happy and had perfect timing when it came to refilling our water glasses. And the father/chef/owner came out to see each group twice and was very happy and humbled when we told him how great his food was.Dinner for 2, including tip, for $35. And definitely worth every cent. If you love Indian food, you must eat at Mehak.
