Go in. Don’t get a menu. They only do three things. Pizza, sausage and lamb kabobs. They just introduced steak and the old boys told us not to get it. Get the lamb, and get the sausage and garlic. We had an amazing lunch here today after a hectic morning and wished we could stay all day. They say only one way to get in here as a server and one way out, someone dies. Best lunch, loved it here. Worth the trip to Boston.
This was by far the best pizza I’ve ever had. Excellent flavor and authentic crust. One pizza was perfect for two with enough to bring some home still. Service was personable and friendly, would be a regular if we lived in town!
Saw the reviews and wanted to try it. The crust is great. The sauce is amazing. Our waiter couldn’t have been better. Absolutely would go back and recommend trying it!
Had cheese pizza, red wine, shrimp scampi pizza and sausage with bread. excellent food. great service. great ambience. cash only. great prices.
Used to live in Eastie and this is probably the best pizza in Boston. I fear that’s more a result of poor pizza in Boston though than particularly good pizza at Santarpio’s. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good — but I’ve found that with anything other than a 1-topping pizza, the cheese will slide right off the dough. Also, the staff is full of your classic-Bostonians… a little rough around the edges and won’t put up with any of your out-of-town ignorance (I’m from Boston, which makes this extra-hilarious). I do enjoy sitting at their bar and ordering a cheap light beer.
Santarpio’s. When I was driving to the airport one week, I noticed Santarpios located at the exit before the airport! I told myself id have to stop by the next week I was in town…And then I was jinxed. After many evening hours in the airport, my flight was canceled and I had to hang in Boston overnight.First thing on my late-night list? Cab to Santarpios. I placed my order and hung out in the kitchen ( cause thats what you can do there, literally) while it was being made.I almost devoured the garlic & crumbled sausage pie but I saved some for the cab driver and the hotel bellman. Was happy with the pizza, mostly because Ive heard so much about it. I think the slices may not have lived up to the hype if I visited at a planned hour, but flight cancelation + late-night pizza jaunt is a key for success.
Homemade Sausage and a Skewer of Lamb. A little more bread, a few more peppers, it’s Heaven on Earth!!!!!
