Pretentious. Stopped in for dinner. Host was seated at his control desk, we asked for a table for two, guy just kinda looked through us as if we didn’t quite meet up to his standards..I think the guy was wearing a bow tie. Said it would be a half hour wait. That would have been fine, but I didn’t want to be that guy for more than 3 or 4 minutes. We left. Vibe was over the top preppy and pretentious. I’m catching this from other reviewers too. This is coming from a guy who is a bit preppy himself.
Fabulous setting right on the water. Food was only fair. Lobster roll consisted of frozen lobster meat (host assured us it was fresh when we enquired before being seated). Shrimp pizza just OK. It had big tasteless shrimp…NOT local sweet small shrimp(waiter assured us the shrimp would be local). The seared tuna sandwich was also just OK. Many of the Etown restaurants serve below average seafood. Do they think that people from away don’t know the difference? We found the Port Hunter up the street w fresh seafood and knowledgeable staff. Had four meals there!
Completely overrated. They skimp on wine pours. The oysters are fresh, but the shucking leaves something to be desired. The broth in the muscles is heaven, but the mussels weren’t properly cooked and several hadn’t been debearded, bleh!
