We went here in the winter months so only the casual area/tavern was open. We had a great view of the water and a tasy salad topped with fabulous Lobster Salad. I would go back for that meal in an instant!
Great Place to Sit and Wait. Basically it’s a lovely spot with bland food and indifferent to terrible service, but we still go there! It’s just a nice place to get a drink and if you have time and patience to wait for someone to notice you and eventually bring you a sandy burger then Bob’s your uncle!
A bar with a view. The view of the water is great, and the rustic interior and porch seating are very nice for taking in the sights on a summer afternoon. The food and prices, however, are not good. Contrary to other reviews, i found the service to be friendly, however, its mostly student summer help, so mileage may vary, but our server was pleasant and cheerful. I had the black bean burger, and it tasted somewhat old. It was served with an unrecognizable orange sauce on it, perhaps a mustard with relish, but i couldn’t tell. I imagine if you want a drink and to enjoy the sights, it woud be ok, but if it were not positioned rit in the heart of woods hole, it would likely not survive. The prices were actually outlandish, i think our table of four people, each having a sandwich and a non alcoholic beverage came to seventeen dollars a piece. Were the food excellent, i would not complain, but this was not my experience. Too bad, since its just over the bridge in woods hole.
Terrible. Captain kidd sadly has the market because of its location. Unfortunately this has made it the careless, cocky and with no incentive to maintain good management. Their prices are too high and the quality of their food is not a hair past lousy. I have eaten at the CK for the past 12 years and all aspects associated with this restaurant have gone precipitously downhill, especially in the past 2 years.Very sad.
Over priced and mediocre. The single worst restaurant in Woods Hole. Great view outside but otherwise skip it. Landfall has better tradional seafood and the Fishmonger has a more interesting menu.
Great view. Way over priced!! $16.00 for fish and chips that were no better than I can get in Chicago, sad. Will not be back during our stay here.
Traditional pub grub in a fabulous setting right on the water in Woods Hole. Pirate themed dcor circa 1940’s(??) is authentic and super cool. Great place for a cocktail.
