Great steak tartare, served cold and well seasoned with hints of spicy heat and some of the better brioche toasts points I’ve had in a while. Tasty caramelized bacon cashews bar snacks.But a very disappointing veal tongue reuben. The meat did not taste fresh, as if it were pre-cut and wrapped in clean film. This wasn’t close to any reuben I’ve had in terms of quality or execution.The bar looked clean, the bartenders hustled like crazy, made good conversation and seemed to recognize several patrons by name. It seems cocktails are becoming generally better across the country these days. Don’t know if I would go back for the food, but I’d be happy to have a drink. Besides, Sportello is upstairs, so why bother with Drink for Food?
Awesome drinks, so-so staff. Our friend in Boston brought us here and talked up both the incredible drinks and staff. She was dead-on re: the drinks – our versions of an Old Fashioned (with apple brandy – delicious!) and Manhattan’s (with a cherry liquor) were great. While most of the staff there seemed really into talking with guests and explaining the drinks, our server was not especially friendly and she barely spoke to us at all. She poured a mean drink though!
Great on a Tuesday. Have been waiting to hit up this spot for a night out with the ladies and finally got the chance to last Tuesday. We were all glad that we chose Tuesday as our night at Drink because there was plenty of room for us to perch up to the bar and got exceptional attention from the bar tenders and waitstaff. We decided on some adventurous cocktails and also ordered some old classics with a twist. The drinks combined with the tasty bar snacks (bacon wrapped dates with Gorgonzola yum!) and the warm atmosphere and expertise of the staff made this night a memorable experience. This is definitely a place to bring out of town visitors.
