I had no idea that Xi’an cuisine actually existed as a separate being before I found this place. A rather unremarkable, small restaurant definitely knows how to serve quick, budget lunches. I chose their regular pulled noodles and fell in love instantly! Though greasy and quite simple as far as ingredients are concerned, the dish tasted excellent and to my surprise, not too spicy. Gene’s seems to offer an interesting meeting of tastes somewhere between China and Central Asia that’s definitely worth exploring.
