Terrible Breakfast. Good service, very bad quality food for breakfast.
We had Christmas dinner there this year and it was great. They had a special dinner menu but we were there too early for that so we had to order from regular menu, it suited our party of 7 just fine.
Slightly below average food. Poor service and way, way overpriced for what you get.
Can’t ask for a better location! We were lucky to have fantastic weather and the walk here was lovely. Service was very good and our breakfast was delicious. Simple, well made dishes and a nice buffet. Will come here again!
Quaint brunch without the crowds. Stopped by for a brunch looking out on the waterfront. The service is very professional, and we were able to get a table immediately. They accept reservations, which will help on busy weekends. We had the crab cake benedict, as well as the steak and eggs. The bone marrow hash that comes with the steak was especially good. I will be bringing guests from out of town back here to get a feel for Boston.
Conservative Provenale Fare. Running a restaurant inside a 5 star hotel in the United States is a tricky business. A significant portion of your clientele will inevitably be of the arriviste class, uncultured, untraveled, and terrified of trying anything new, and yet you must also please the other guests who may have breakfasted on another continent that morning and who speak five languages fluently. Miel manages to walk a razor thin line, delivering confident but simple Provenale cuisine at reasonable (for a hotel) prices, in a gorgeous setting overlooking Boston Harbor. Our party of four started in the bar, a relaxed and elegant area that gets noticeably more boisterous late at night. Service here was particularly attentive, especially after the hostess learned that we’d all recently been to her hometown in Slovakia. We brought our drinks into the dining room (after being forced to close out our tab in the bar, a smoother option would have been to carry it over)The dining room was beautiful, with floor to ceiling glass yielding views of the water and a stunning slate terrace for outdoor dining. I started with the melon gazpacho, smooth puree of melon and vegetables, which could have used a little acid for brightness. Our shared app was one of the finest steak tartares I’ve ever had, luscious tiny cubes of meltingly tender raw beef with a spicy horseradish sauce and served unexpectedly with a cone of hot, salty, perfect truffle frites. My main course was a very generous portion of pan roasted Atlantic cod on a bed of well-seasoned mushrooms, which were so good that I ordered a side dish portion separately. We closed the meal with an assortment of miniature desserts: a relatively forgettable creme brulee, the ubiquitous molten chocolate cake, a nicely tart and creamy cheesecake, and an addictive and dazzling profiterole, undoubtedly the high point of the desserts.
Best breakfast ever. So I ran the 1/2 marathon in boston then went here to eat the calories i burned and it was worth every bite. Literally the best breakfast i have ever had.
