Didn’t even get started. We arrived in Boston and decided to try some seafood/steak at this establishment near Quincy Market. We looked over the menu and when we turned around to see the server/host, his comment was, are you ready now? He took us to a table for two in a corner of the chained off area, there was no room for me nor my wife to even get into the chairs. So we moved to a table next to it, the server ran over and said, we can’t let you sit there, we save that for lager groups. Looking around at the edges where we would be seated with rocking tables (all we could think was spilled wine) we just left. Can’t comment of the food but if the service was any indication of the food, I’d pass! We went next door to Cheers, had a great meal and a fantastic server with great information on the city and he was humourous. Sorry, Salty Dog, NOT FOR US.

Excellent service and seafood. My son and I visited this restaurant for both lunch and dinner in late July 2012. The fresh salmon, scrod, and cajun chicken were all three top notch. Prices were moderate for the location – after all this is Quincy Market in downtown Boston – within the $18 to $26 range for entrees. One warning though: the 90 minutes of parking in the lot across the street – at 20 Clinton – was a whopping $35.00. Service was attentive and courteous. I would highly recommend this restaurant for quality, service, and price.

Best shrimp on the east coast. Do Cajun peel and eat better than the Cajuns. Whooeee

Mixed feelings. Great location, sitting on their terrace on a great day. Beer was great, but our food was overpriced for the value, too heavy, greasy. Still a good experience, but next time, we will pass.

Great onion rings and fish and chips. Good value, excellent spot.

The best isn’t always the biggest!. A tiny little hole in the wall, the Salty Dog is not a spacious place….if you’re claustrophobic, get take-out…. however, this grille and bar certainly makes up for it with the freshest, tastiest seafood (certainly the best I’ve tried off of the north shore) …. and the service from our bartender…sorry ..didn’t get his name…. made our dining experience a most pleasant, accomodating and fun experience….I would highly recommend this one to any seafood lover,
