When I first arrived to Boston from Lebanon, it took me a while to adjust to the food. Despite the abundance of Shawarma and Falafel places, I wasn’t really satisfied. I discovered Shawarma Falafel by mistake, when I was looking for an open place during the infamous 2015 blizzard. It was the best discovery I had in Boston so far, as I live and work in downtown Boston and the restaurant made me feel like I never really left home. As someone who moved a lot in their lives (I tried Middle Eastern places all over Europe), I can say that Shawarma Falafel is one of the few Lebanese authentic restaurants I tried outside my home country. If you order a chicken Shawarma, they know that you love it with the famous Lebanese garlic sauce, and you get it. Their Taboule and Fattoush feel like real homemade Lebanese salads, and that’s the best thing a Lebanese can say about it (as our favorite is always our mom’s).Besides the food, the staff are really friendly and you’re sure to get your food really fast. As a personal recommendation, if you haven’t really tried Lebanese food, I would say you should try the chicken taouk sandwich. Make sure you ask for some extra garlic sauce! (Unless you have a date later on). A taboule on the side is always good too!
