After reading the reviews – I really wanted to try this place out. Apparently they’re known for their Mac n cheese, which is probably undoubtedly great, but we ordered the steak tips, shepherds pie and the tomato bruschetta. All are a must buy! Steak tips were medium rare, cooked to perfection and juicy as hell. The mashed potatoes were just the perfect combo of potatoes, milk and pepper and not too chunky. The shepherds pie was great too, quite filling and filled with amazing spices. So was the bruschetta for all vegetarians. The service was great, food was filling, and extremely cheap for the quality and price. The disco ball started in the middle of our meal and it was the perfect way to end the night. Will most definitely come here again. WOW!
Visiting from Australia and our bike tour guide recommended this place. Quite honestly that is the best meal my partner and I have had in our 5 weeks travelling the United States. Well cooked, delicious, homely wholesome food. So good even, that we are going back tomorrow night to have our last Boston dinner there.
Black Shirley Temple (sounds lady like – but it’s got a nice ginger bite). Bruschetta was awesome. Mac and cheese was good too.
Go for the cocktails, stay for the food. The bar area of the Silvertone is usually packed with people drinking after work. Yet the place has a very different feel than most in the area. The bar service is fast, and reasonably priced. Although the food service is equally fast and reasonably priced, be prepared for some heavy meals in the entree section. If you are not up for a rich meal, stick to the salads. The Mac and Cheese is great, as is the meatloaf. I will admit though, I didn’t understand what the purpose of the Lo-Mein noodles dish was. That said, the Silvertone is open late, with the kitchen serving until 11pm.
