Again dinner with big group. Had salumi ( diff cuts of meat), kale salad ( kale feta & peaches which was yummy), a fava bean hummus (wow) and olives for starters. For mains we went with the pastas – one with prawn and the other mussels. The latter was so so. The lamb chop was great. Our server was fun and engaging. We were sat on a u shaped table which made for interesting way to serve us.
Nice place, easy to find, service was polite and professional but not intrusive. Homemade pastas are very nice and desserts. Overall solid place and well executed. Enjoy
Arrived at end of lunch time on a Sunday. Menu had several item on it that I was not familiar with so ordered an Italian panini . It was served with popcorn. When questioned about the popcorn, was told by server that they had run out of homemade potato chips. Was disappointed, but sandwich was good. Ordered cupcakes from the bakery and were disappointed that they were dry. Liked the diner feel of the place, but it was certainly not diner food.
Delicious. Fresh, innovative food. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere.
Good, if bizarre, food served with a heavy dose of pretentious attitude. If the staff we met was any indication, the requirements for employment are social awkwardness, hideous facial hair and an affinity for bands you’ve never heard of. If I was looking for someone to write original content for Pitchfork.com, they would be amazing; unfortunately, I just wanted them to bring me some Italian food. The menu features a number of roots, such as beets and turnips, that are most prominently featured in dishes served by your crazy aunt, who insists this is how she survived the Great Depression. Given the prices, I would hope for something a little more first world.
Gnocchi: to die for!. I will definitely make a return trip to Sportello sometime this summer. The gnocchi was absolutely, positively to die for. Can’t remember the last time I had anything that just melted in my mouth like this dish.Kudos also to the staff. I was there on a night when the power went out and they kept us entertained and supplied with cold amuses-bouche until the electricity came back. Very good service and nice atmosphere.
Delicious!!. Gnocchi is amazing, and the desserts are a work of edible art. Great experience, will definitely go back
