Overpriced, Mediocre and Doesn’t Have to Worry About Repeat Business. Food was expensive ($7.00 for a beer) and underwhelming. That said it was right next to the Marriott and on the water so it can capitalize on the constant crowds coming down there.Wife and kid were hot and feeling like that had to eat right away and didn’t want to hold out for a more appropriate family dining experience, perhaps in the nearby North End.Didn’t love my salad, but no complaints. Kid ate half his burger, and then said he didn’t like it, but they cheerfully served up Mac and Cheese.Wife wolfed down her 1 lb lobster, said it was small. Offered to get another, but she declined. Definitely won’t rush back. Your experience may vary. Also was a little put off by the four burly bouncers wearing black hat were keeping watch on the crowd. Made we wonder what sort of element the place attracted if they had to have that many security dudes.
Unspeakably Awful. Great location and pretty dining area and patio, but it basically serves overpriced American hotel food. Sauces are all from a jar, appetizers are microwaved or deep fried, and the baked stuffed lobsters are stuffed hours in advance leaving the stuffing to solidify into a stolid mass. It is very pricey, as one would expect from its downtown waterfront location, so it is inexcusable to serve food two steps below Cheesecake Factory. The bar, however, is a great place to meet really attractive tourists for convenient one-night-stands.
Good but not great. We were a party of 5 last night – it was chilly. We had to wait an hour for an addl party guests who was running behind/ The bar area inside was closed for a private party although it never took up the full bar while we 4 old ladies were dying for warmth and a chair. They would make no exceptions. I feel the wine list could use a little improvement. Food was great server (male) was awesome. On a scale of 1 – 10 I giv it 7.
The service was poor and the food was mediocre at best. The manager was rude and was forcefully ushering customers out of the restaurant.
This one gets 5 foodGasms from a single traveler. Great staff! They made me feel so welcome. The clam chowder was fabulous, and if they have the lobster special-get it-totally worth every penny. The patio is great in the fall weather, the heaters are warm and inviting and you have a view of the boats, a beautiful park, and the lighted carousel in the evening light. Travelgirl gives this restaurant 5 O’s for quality and value
Best place to eat seafood in Boston. Food was so good, make sure you find out the special of the day. The oysters are very small so don’t waste your time with them. The lobsters are huge and delicious. We also had fried shrimp and scallops and they were fantastic!!!!!
