This past weekend we went to Chinatown to have brunch at Winsor Dim Sum Caf. If you want to eat good quality dim sum and you are not looking for a fancy place then I will definitely recommend Winsor. It’s so worth it. They serve 3/4 dim sum(s) in an order, which is very reasonable. I will suggest that you go early in the day, then you will be able to get a parking spot as well as don’t have to wait in line for very long. You can read full restaurant review in my blog zest and leisure (zestandleisuredotblogspotdotcom). instagram.com
Awesome food and a fun experience sitting at the communal tables. Service is a bit slow though and unfriendly, staff only barely speaks English as a second language. Very worth the price!
Dim sum more please!. Was recommended by local. What a great meal we ordered 8 different items and each and every one of them was great. Small place shared tables but no worries no one is talking they are just eating… Great eats a must stop
Don’t believe the hype. Food was very average, waitress’s rude and unresponsive. Want real dumplings? Gourmet Dumpling house is around the corner and worth the wait.
Meh.. I have to say that while the overall meal was good enough to eat, it was also generally kind of disappointing. The highlights were definitely the chicken feet in black bean sauce and the pork and shrimp dumplings but the rest of the dumplings weren’t fresh and fell apart very easily. Also, the chinese broccoli looked like it had seen better days and was served with literally two drops of oyster sauce – very unfortunate. The egg tarts, while ok, were cold when we got them. And most importantly, I also felt the overall selection was limited (especially when compared to NYC dimsum). I liked it, but I’m not positive I’d go back. aestheticdalliances.blogspot.com
Hidden gem for dim sum. This tiny restaurant is at the top of a set of stairs, where you will more than likely be standing and waiting for a table. The kitchen runs out of shrimp on occasion, so order quickly and enjoy the inexpensive, authentic dim sum. Heavenly soft dumplings served steaming hot. This is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve dined here often
Tasty, cheap, tasty, fast, tasty!. I have absolutely no authority to comment on authenticity, but the food was delicious, the price was great, and the service was prompt.I was a little skeptical about the check-box order form as opposed to a cart, since part of the appeal for dim sum for me is that you can see everything before you commit to it, but the menu had photos of everything. The only complaint I might have is that the dumplings were so sticky I could hardly get them off the serving basket, but that’s completely minor. The steamed pork buns were amazing – great flavor, perfectly light and fluffy texture. Fried sesame balls never disappoint. I would also recommend the turnip cakes and of course, you can never go wrong with scallion cakes.
