Something great has happened with Bella Costa this past year. Homemade pastas are fantastic. Sauce is so nice, not over seasoned or over-cooked as so many are in other places. The tiramisu is to die for !Must be on your list to retry, if youve been there years ago.Recently visited with a Party of four guests and resulted in 4 home runs. We went into extra innings with the tiramisu and we absolutely felt like we won the World Series!
First, don’t go on a Saturday night, it’s a zoo. We went at 6:00 thinking we’d be before the rush and we had reservations. Got there, it was a mob scene with people out the door. Small parking lot – they have free valet service but it makes for a congested traffic scene. The maitre di was ready to seat us but the hostess/owner kept taking phone calls and talking forever instead of just telling him a table number for us as we all stood there awkwardly for several minutes. It took at least an hour to get our food. The homemade pasta was good, but portions were small – esp. for an Italian restaurant. The other dishes – one chicken, one seafood were mediocre. The broiled seafood platter had 1 shrimp, 3 small scallops and two pieces of fish, both together adding up to almost the size of a smart phone. Very expensive for that quantity! I do not plan on going back.
Not a great lunch destination. My great aunt used to take me here when I came to visit her. I’ve only been for lunch or brunch a few times over the past decade, but every time was a letdown. I don’t even know if they do brunch on weekends anymore, but the last time I went it was basically leftovers from the night before plus an omelet bar. Lunch food was decent, but clearly geared towards an older crowd. Mostly pastas with red or white sauce, nothing really interesting or particularly flavorful.
Delicious food topped off with a dessert of chocolate lava cake! A great Framingham treat.
