I was here about a month ago while in the area on business. I really want to like this place. Its exactly the kind of place I like – nice pub atmosphere, good beer selection.The trouble is it doesnt live up to its promise. The place has a great pub feel, but the service doesnt have that friendly pub feel. I waited 10 minutes in a half empty restaurant on a rainy evening to be seated. The waitress, while friendly enough, was critical of management and the kitchen. I waited a fair while for drinks and orders, and didnt end up having a second pint because of a long return wait for her to check. Not good.Food was only so so. It was reasonably quick from the kitchen. The chowder was pretty good although a little on the salty side. Dinner sized salad was plenty of food but the lettuce was bitter and sort of alkaline in taste. Beer options were excellent but as I said I settled for just one because of the wait.Cost wise the price was fair – around $40 bar and tip in. I would consider returning and it gets an average score because of the ambiance and beer selection. Ill chalk the food and service issues up to a bad night. Maybe next time.
