Not very happy. We asked for a blue Patriots Jersey cake We got a white 1 that look like a dress. I certainly will not be going back there for business. If you can’t follow simple instructions 4 color and then it doesn’t even look like a Patriots Jersey there are too many good bakeries out there but I know I am only 1 customer. Although after reading the reviews after I got the cake now I can see that I should have read them before I ordered the cake
I recently moved to Hadley and heard about gregorys from my fience and after seeing my birthday cake(golf course) theme from there I was amazed so I ordered my fiencee cake(cape cod sand dunes) theme and it was the hit of the party we will order every event cake from now on espically our wedding cake thank you Gregory awesome job
Wedding cake!. After reading some negative reviews online but get several awesome reviews in person and having our cake tasting my husband and I chose to use gregorys pastry shop for our wedding cake on June 2 2012. I must say it was the BEST decision ever! I walked into my venue (after having my hair and flowers go wrong!) and was ecstatic to see our cake! it was pretty much exactly what we asked for and i was amazed at how it looked! When we finally cut the cake and had some I nearly died. BEST TASTING CAKE EVER. Loved it i can’t wait to get back home from our honeymoon to eat our top layer (it certainly wont be making it to our first anniversary YUMM)
Unpleasant Experience. It’s sad to hear that someone’s wedding day had a damper on it due to a wedding cake mistake. I agree with discchica237. I also had a bad experience with Gregory’s Pastry Shop. The person that helped me, didn’t seem all that friendly. The person may have been Gregory, but, I don’t know, he didn’t introduce himself. Okay, I guess I can deal with a not so very friendly person, that shouldn’t rate the whole experience, I thought. However, when the day came to pick up the cake for my Godchild’s Baptism, the cake was wrong. I had asked to have a picture of the child on the cake and it was not on the cake. I mentioned something to the person there, they said sorry and fixed it, which was good because that is the that I had ordered it. After the cake was fixed, I asked them if I could have my picture back. They said, sure, and looked for it. In the end, they couldn’t find the picture of my Godchild and basically had lost my picture. That was very disappointing. The only thing I could think of was, it’s a good thing that I had made copies of that picture, otherwise, it would be lost forever. Not to be nit picky but, because of this experience, I do not plan on going back to Gregory’s, ever again.
Consistently excellent pastries. I have bought pastires and cakes many times in the past from Gregory’s. The cakes and pastries are excellent and delicious. Best fillings I have had. Yesterday I bought a surprise birthday cake for my partner and everyone at the party went on about how good the cake was. Gregory did a fantastic job decorating the cake, much better than any supermarket or other store…….Gregory has always been very helpful and goes out of his way to make a cake specialThanks,Joe
Delicious pastries …..local resident. Hi,I live in Hadley and periodically go to Gregory’s. (approximately 14-15x past 5 years) The pastrys are very good-delicious. Nice range of pastry. All made on the premises. I would go more often but am afraid that I might gain too much weight. My experience w/ the owner has always been pleasant. Two people I know one a friend and 1 a co worker have had very positive experiences ordering wedding cakes from Gregory. I had an exhibition of paintings and the cake he made was fantastic and unique. The cake was the design of a pallet w/ paints and a brush. Great job and thank you Gregory
Not worth your money.. The cake tasted great, as far as everything else, not impressed. The cake was really expensive, almost $500 to feed 100-120 people, with NO embellishments. That was just for the cake. Greggory was also not exactly a peach to deal with. He was impolite when talking to him and wasn’t easy to approach with questions. And when you did ask questions he made you feel like you were being a hassle, even when you only called to ask one or two simple questions. Unless you wanted to talk about Sex and the City he hardly give you the time of day. I also wanted real flowers put on the cake, however they were delicate flowers shipped from Hawaii to Massachusetts and needed to be kept at a specific temperature. Greg wouldn’t let me deliver the flowers the day of the wedding and he wasn’t willing to work with me at all to make MY day special. Please believe me, I was not a bridezilla at all, ask my mom or husband. I really did not ask much of Greggory and received even less. Because the issue with the flowers was so annoying I gave up dealing with Greggory and left the job to my mom. My aunt and cousin ended up decorating the cake. They did a better job than he would have I’m sure. Not only all of that, but the cake was also crooked. A small, 3 tier round cake, was crooked. My husband could care less about most of the wedding details, but he was really upset the cake and mad about how upset I was. But the fact that all Greggory had to do was bake and stack a cake and cover it in fondant and it was crooked???? Seriously? I know Greggory must deal with a lot of annoying people but not everyone is like that, and for a wedding, you should try to put in some effort. Just because it may not be YOUR day, doesn’t mean that it isn’t someones day.
