Worst BBQ ribs ever had. Dry, tough and inedible. Didn’t care for the bottled (not home made) BBQ sauce choices. Potato salad had too much vinegar and mustard and not enough mayonnaise, unless it was suppose to be a German potato salad but who could tell? It was an awful taste. The ribs were just warm not hot as expected coming right from the kitchen. The place is clean and food served quick. Black beans were very good as was corn bread. Unable to chew rib meat at all! Extremely tough. Plastic utensils a joke. Had to use hands and rip meat from bone using teeth. After two bites of ribs (which was spit out) and a bite of awful salad, took all food back to counter. Told server we could not eat it and got the beans to go. No offer to refund. Will never go back. Disappointed as newspaper gave place a good review. Big mistake.
Good but in context. I’ve tasted better barbecue in both more and less ‘formal’ restaurants. I’ve had better Pulled Smoked Chicken, and much worse. Barbecue sides are fairly standardized and I’ve had great ones and those leaving something to be desired. Wildwood was good, not great, set in a very informal but comfortable environment and all things considered, served its purpose. The pulled smoked chicken is tasty but not stand-out. Sides were good, fresh at the least, but not delicious. I see a lot of potential at this barbecue joint among few but need to try Bub’s for a better point of comparison. I’ll return but with a different barbecue in mind.

First time in tonight with my husband who is a lover of BBQ.Workers were nice, very clean and tidy. Cramped dining, and limited space to wait for a seat, so we had to stand in front of someone’s table. Food comes to the counter for customer pick up and you would think it should be hot as it comes right from the kitchen to you…well it was actually on the colder side of Luke warm! I was astonished and disappointed. We think it would have been better if they popped it in the microwave before serving, which is a shame to say.
Great barbecue!. Went to Wildwood Barbecue on Thursday night with some friends. My husband and I had ribs and BBQ beans as did 2 of our friends including a teenager. The other kids had ribs or pulled pork and their Mom had pulled chicken with collard greens. Everyone was happy with their choices and thought it was above average for BBQ. The place is clean and comfortable and the cornbread was the biggest hit with all of us including the kids as it was a good sized portion and nice and sweet. Ribs were really good with 3 different house-made sauces. We all agreed that we’d definitely go back.
