  Always a fantastic dining experience. Talk about their curried mussels with anyone traveling to Nantucket. Many great places to dine on the Island, but Fifty-six Union is still my favorite.

  Delicious!! (and good with food allergies). Went after reading great online reviews and so glad we did! Hotel staff emphasized that it was outside of town so we would probably like something else, but it was no big deal and the walk was really enjoyable. Might take a cab if it’s super cold or you’re not very mobile. Outside of the building is nothing special, but inside is definitely a warm upscale feel. Ate in the front part of the restaurant near the bar and the ambiance was very enjoyable. Seated with drinks quickly. Didnt seem to mind our 5 year old dining with us even though it’s definitely more if an adult restaurant. We have gluten, soy and dairy food allergies and had read positive info online about how they handle it. Sure enough, chef came out to talk with us about what we like, what my child might enjoy, etc and then crafted me a fluke filet lightly seared in almond meal instead of bread crumbs and put together a special small plate of chicken and veggies for our child. Thank you for this extra effort!! My hubby had the special lamb & spicy sausage burger and said it was outstanding! My fluke was excellent as well. This restaurant/meal and our meal/view at galley’s were tied as our most favorite while on The island. We will definitely return here next trip! Thank you for making our experience so wonderful! Would recommend reservation.
