We went to the Chart House based on the recommendation of a local man who is part of our group. We had a large group of 40. I love the interior of the restaurant. It was three stories, exposed beams, near the water and airy, but cozy. Our group was seated on the third floor. The servers were friendly and knowledgable of the drink menu and meal menu. The Lobster Bisque was exquisite. The steamed lobster and garlic mashed potatoes and chocolate lava cake were delicious. My husband had the lobster stuffed Scron and it was superb. I’d order that next time. The negative was that the meal took too long to serve. We enjoyed the company at our table, so it was not intolerable. However, others did leave after they had their soup and salad. There were plenty of servers, so I think that the problem was the kitchen. I do recommend the Chart House.

Disappointing chain-based steak and seafood restaurant in a truly beautiful historic building on Boston’s waterfront. Service is slow and forgetful, and while there some bright spots on the menu, there’s nothing that really showcases the bounty of New England’s seas. Good place to take your grandparents if they’re afraid of trying anything new or authentic.

Total disappointment. We went for lunch and ordered simple. Calamari for appetizers and fish and chips. Everything was under cooked and greasy. Definitely not worth the money.

I wanted to like this place…. Heard this place was amazing…left a little disappointed! Great atmosphere, beautiful old building but the food was just a 6/10. Started off with the clam chowder which was pretty good (but didn’t beat Legal’s Seafood). Somewhat lacking in seasoning. For my main course I ordered the filet, medium rare. It came out more medium +, also lacking seasoning-left me wanting to dip it in ketchup which is NEVER a good thing. The cut of meat wasn’t what the filet at Outback is. Towards the end of the meal some rats came to visit (we were sitting outside). They were very large and wanted to run under our feet….never a good way to start dessert. I know it’s Boston, but it was hard to eat my favorite part of the meal (melting cake which was an 8/10!) standing on my chair.

A huge disappointment! Poor service! King crab legs were NOT good clearly sat around TOO long. The 8 oz filet was very good, a nice bright spot. Overall I would DEFINETLY not choose Chart House!

Great atmosphere. Try the fried asparagus and blue cheese appetizer. Also, lobster bisque is fabulous.
