This is a great Irish bar in the heart of Boston. The Irish bartender, Laura, is very friendly and I really enjoyed my full Irish breakfast. They have live music every night. I was there a Sunday night in July and the band were great! It was a lively spot considering it was Sunday. I will return in the future!!
Not sure what’s with the negativity but I enjoyed the place. Between the wife and I, we couldn’t complain about any of the food (actually the opposite, it was rather impressive for bar food but mot life changing). They advertise live music every night, I’m not usually a fan, but it was at an acceptable level so you can still talk amongst the people at your table. We would definitely come back!
Save your killer for the end …… Everything was fine – o.k . Lunch for the price- until the waitress was afraid for her tip . Then , almost everything went wrong . Over all. , we wont choose that place Alain .
Best beer battered fish I’ve ever had but the service left something to be desired.
Really great curry fries!
This place is a gem. Walked through the mall to work up an appetite and then roamed looking fo a meal. This place was tucked away down the street from the union oyster house with live music floating through the windows. Brought right in man at the door after showing my military ID ( alreadyscoring points with us ) and brougt to a cozy table off to the side of the stage. Our waitress was on is like a hawk and drinks were served. I ordered the lobster special and the princess ordered the Irish meatloaf. Both were amazing. Our drinks were never empty, our bellies were full. Including a round of shots, around 60 before tip. Very satisfied!! Highly recommend!!
Good time, fun atmosphere, good pub food. We visited Boston for the weekend and were staying at the Marriott Long Wharf so we we wandered around looking for somewhere casual to eat the first night. We found ourselves outside the Union Oyster House, but it did not feel right, so we chose Hennesy’s over the myriad of Irish pubs in the area.It wasn’t too crowded when we got there, so we were able to sit fairly close to the window so we could people watch. The service was excellent. I think we had three or four different servers waiting on us while we were there. They were very attentive and very quick, despite the crown having built up quite a bit for a Thursday night. We had our Samuel Adams Brick Red’s within a few minutes and the meal began.Overall, the food was very good. We started with the buffalo chicken nachos and my son and I both had clam chowder. While it was not the best chowder I’ve ever had, it hit the spot and was loaded with clams and potatoes. The nachos were quite cheesy and tasty. For entrees, my wife had the lobster roll, my son had pasta and I had the fish and chips. My wife made the best choice, but I really enjoyed the fish and chips. They were light and flaky and the fries/chips were good.Overall, I would recommend Hennesy’s. They have a banner over their window that says there were voted Boston’s best Irish pub, which is probably what sealed our decision to eat there.
