Excellent food service and value. I visit regularly from Australia and have the privilege to eat at many of the North End restaurants. La Summa isn’t as fancy as some but doesn’t have the high price tag either. I have never been disappointed and I don’t think you will be either. Try the stuffed mushroom appetizer….. Delicious!
$60 more added to the bill. The food at La Summa in the North End, Boston is very good but one has to watch the bill carefully. Last evening @ around 5:30-5:45pm, we had a party of 8 having dinner. Automatically, the tip is added, very understandable! When the bill came, something seemed wrong, it was $265 (tip and tax included) and that was for pasta only! No alcoholic drinks of any kind (5 pepsi’s). A couple of the pasta dishes were $15.95 but the waiter mistook the 1 for a 7 and charged one of those dishes, $75.95. Are you kidding me! The waiter was also the one that added up the bill…….you mean he could not see that something was incorrect right away? Oh my goodness! He later said that he thought there was something wrong. This is a joke. On top of everything else, after re-calculating the bill, he did not adjust the tax or the tip. So, he ended up with a 25% tip. At this point, we were so disgusted that we paid the bill and let the door shut behind us for the final time.
Exceptional taste that beats the prices of the other Italian restaurants on nearby Hanover St. Worth a visit!
Avoid if possible. Disappointing. Insalada Della Casa was good. Haddock Blanco was inedible: poorly seasoned and soggy. Chicken Marsala had over cooked chicken (an opinion confirmed by others at the table) and weak Marsala sauce. Too many other good restaurants nearby to waste money at this one.
Could not try. I wanted to try this, but after waiting for ten minutes in an open restaurant with no one to seat us my wife and I gave up. If a place is going to be open during off-peak hours they should keep a look-out for paying customers.
Very good. Everyone at dinner loved their entrees. We all had a dish with homemade pasta. The best fettucini alfredo my husband has ever had. The bread is nothing special but worked good to soak up that last bit of sauce!
Fast, courteous service. Food was served quickly and hit the spot.
