Worst Pre Marathon Restaurant Ever !!!!!. My group had a reservation for months ahead of time. We were running the marathon the next day and had booked Mother Anna’s as our pre marathon dinner. We used the T to get to the North End from our hotel and showed at the restaurant 5 minutes after our reserved time, and they had given our table away. Seriously? We were a group of 7 now in the North End the night before the marathon (when all Italian restaurants in the North End require a reservation), and Mother Anna gave our table away. We were starved and upset. Fortunately, Lucca Back Bay, seated us when they heard of our mistreatment at Mother Anna’s. The food and atmosphere were fabulous (probably better than Mother Anna’s anyway). Thank you, Lucca Back Bay! Booo, Mother Anna’s.

Horrible service!. Could not believe how rude this staff was to myself and my friends! i will NEVER go back to this place and warn others to go elsewhere! and despite what others say, the gnocchi sucks!

Unbelievably rude – Go to Lucca across the street instead.. We had a reservation since March for the night before the marathon. I called and confirmed the reservation that afternoon. We arrived 6 minutes late due to slow train service, which should be expected considering the 37,000 people in town for the marathon. We could not find the hostess for 10 minutes. When we finally found her she told me that she called me and when I didn’t answer she gave our table away. I did not have a missed call on my phone. After finally talked to the bartender, who was presumably the manager, he asked if our entire party was there. I told him 3 people’s flights were delayed so we were down to 7 people from 10. He said if all 10 were there, he could seat us, but since it was only 7 people, he could not seat us. Abhorrent customer service. I will never, ever go back and I will never, ever recommend this restaurant to anyone.

As an Italian who is very picky about her food, this restaurant is spot on! I felt like I was back home. The Gnocchi Juliana was amazing and the texture was perfect. The portions were big and they added lots of lobster, shrimp and scallops. The shrimp/clam appetizer was very tasty and the shrimp were huge. The staff were friendly and my waitress was awesome!! Very attentive and I felt welcomed. This is a place that is small but full of quality. It’s better that way as huge restaurants don’t have the quality of family owned resturants. Will be coming back to try more if the menu!

Don’t Eat Here!. We had a Tuesday night dinner here & we were very disappointed, the hard stale Italian bread was probably a red flag. We picked this place because we were hungry, it was last restaurant on the street & the menu looked a little cheaper. We got exactly what we paid for. The Linguine pasta & meatballs were average at best, the salads were uninspiring, the one glass of wine we ordered tasted stale & acidic (we sent it back). We were expecting fresh parmesan cheese off the block and fancy hand ground pepper. No such luck. Well never go back.

Great red sauce. Just ate at Momma Anna’s tonight. The red sauce was amazing – truly the best I’ve ever had. The outdoor seating was pleasant and our service was great. Terrific casual atmosphere with authentic Italian food.
